This year's Miss Universe Ecuador pageant under the Concurso Nacional de Belleza (CNB) has officially kicked off with the contestants' arrival on May 15 in the city of Guayaquil. The following day, May 16, the 25 beauties vying for the national title were officially sashed in a special presentation gala held in Machala. Major favorites include former Miss Grand Ecuador and Miss Grand International 2019 Top 10 finalist Mara Topic Verduga; former Miss California USA and Miss USA 2016 Top 5 finalist Nadia Mejia-Webb; and former Miss Earth winner Katherine Espin. From the Top 20, only 10 finalists have been selected to continue their journey to the Miss Namibia 2024 crown. The Top 10 were officially revealed during the preliminary competition held on Saturday, May 11 at Droombos Windhoek. This year's much-awaited final competition date and venue have yet to be announced. The Miss Namibia organization headed by Umbi Karuaihe-Upi currently holds the national license for Miss Universe, Miss World, and Miss Earth pageants. Last year's winner Jameela Uiras went to Miss Universe 2023 last November in El Salvador where she placed in the Top 20. Due to Miss World rules, Namibia's next Miss World representative has to be a national winner.
