Miss Universe Italy 2022 national final will be held on Sunday, September 18 at the Lo Smeraldo Ricevimenti di Lusso in Puglia. A total of 20 regional finalists will be vying for the national title and the opportunity to represent Italy at the 71st Miss Universe pageant. Italian singer Daniele Battaglia will host the show along with influencer Stephanie Bellarte. Guests include Comedian Alessandro Politi and "Tali e Quali" winner Daniele Si Nasce. The selection committee that will evaluate the finalists in swimsuits, evening gowns, and interviews consists of former Miss Universe Italy Viviana Vizzini, entrepreneur and beauty expert Claudia Orlando, pageant coach Carlos Wiher, and makeup artist Giordano Conti. Valle d'Aosta representative, Rebecca Arnone, was crowned Miss Mondo Italia 2022 (Miss World Italy 2022) in a glittering competition held on Saturday, June 18 at Villa dei Fiori in Gallipoli. The 19-year-old model and biological sciences student at the University of Turin succeeds last year's winner Claudia Motta. Apart from modeling since the age of 15, she enjoys spending her free time with her closest friends, painting, and writing. She loves listening to metal-rock music and is a fan of the Italian rock band Måneskin. Composing short stories is what she considers her greatest passion. Rebecca is expected to represent Italy at the 71st Miss World pageant, whose date and venue have yet to be announced. Italy has yet to win the Miss World pageant since its first participation in 1954. The country's highest placement was first runner-up (second place) with Giorgia Palmas in 2000. Claudia Motta was crowned Miss Mondo Italia 2021 (Miss World Italy) in a glittering national competition held last September 26 at Villa dei Fiori in Gallipoli. The 21-year-old law student from Rome bested 24 other beauties from across her country to succeed Miss Mondo Italia 2019, Adele Sammartino. Lucia La Paglia and Martina Ballardini were respectively named the first and second runners-up while Isabella Marchetti and Aurora Vella completed the Top 5 finalists. The new Miss World Italy is a keen classical and contemporary dancer, which she has practiced since she was a child, and attended the National Dance Academy in Rome. She will now prepare to represent Italy at the 70th Miss World pageant in San Juan, Puerto Rico this December. “It is a privilege to represent the colors of my nation and a great responsibility to carry on the "Autism On The Road Project"  that I will present at Miss World. Caterina Di Fuccia was crowned Miss Universe Italy 2021 during a national competition held in Rome last Sunday, September 26. The 24-year-old teacher and runway coach from Marcianise is no stranger to pageantry as she was Top 16 at Miss Mondo Italia 2016 and Top 10 at Miss Italia 2019. Italy's Viviana Vizzini is considered one of the early front-runners in the upcoming 69th Miss Universe pageant this May in Florida, USA. The 27-year-old communications sciences and marketing student who hails from Sicily was crowned Miss Universe Italy 2020 last December and earned her right to represent her country at Miss Universe. In her official bio at Miss Universe, Viviana is described as someone who uses her knowledge to leverage herself as Miss Universe Italy and is committed to seeking ways to improve the lives of women around the world. She works as an ambassador for the Italian Red Cross and provides support to Casa Penelope, a place of refuge for women who need safe housing. Viviana is proud of her Sicilian heritage and believes life is about the journey and that with each day, she can find something new to learn or appreciate about humanity.
