Miss Grand International 2021 welcome ceremony and press conference was held on Thursday, November 18 at the Four Points by Sheraton Phuket Patong Beach Resort in Phuket, Thailand. Fifty-eight contestants wearing their stunning evening gowns and respective crowns arrived at the venue in a sports car. They raised a toast with the reigning queen Abena Appiah and MGI executives during the glittering event. Miss Puerto Rico, Vivianie Diaz Arroyo topped our list of best-dressed contestants followed by representatives from the Philippines, Thailand, Colombia, and Myanmar. Miss Grand International 2021 contestants' orientation and sash ceremony was held on Wednesday, November 17 at Four Points by Sheraton Phuket Patong Beach Resort in Thailand. The reigning Miss Grand International from the United States of America, Abena Appiah, led the traditional MGI event. Out of 56 contestants present during the ceremony, our team picked Miss Indonesia, Sophie Louise Rogan as best-dressed. Miss Grand International 2021 begins, contestants arrive in Phuket

Over 60 representatives from around the world are expected to arrive in Phuket, Thailand to compete for the Miss Grand International 2021 title. The Top 5 most voted contestants before arrival will have a special meal with the MGI executives. To vote, go to the official Facebook page of Miss Grand International, look for the album "VOTE for Top5 Before Arrival - MGI2021" then click like and share the photo of your favorite contestant. Voting ends on November 16 at 6:00 p.m. (Thailand time), just go to the official Facebook page of Miss Grand International. The final show of the 9th Miss Grand International will be held on December 4 in Bangkok. Abena Appiah of the United States will crown her successor at the end of the event. Miss Grand Thailand 2021 is Indy Johnson

Indy Johnson was officially named as the newly appointed Miss Grand Thailand 2021 during a press conference held on Wednesday, October 6 at PM Center in Bangkok. The 24-year-old beauty from Bangkok represented Pathum Thani and placed as the first runner-up during Miss Grand Thailand 2020 competition won by her predecessor, Patcharaporn “Nam” Chantarapadit. Miss Grand International 2021 press conference, schedule of events announced

The press conference for Miss Grand International 2021 was held at the PM Center in Bangkok, Thailand on Wednesday, October 6. MGI President Nawat Itsaragrisil officially revealed the series of activities and schedules for the competition that will take place in Phuket, Phi Phi Islands, and Bangkok. The international pageant's 9th edition will be held on December 4 at the SHOW DC Hall. Miss Grand International 2020 Abena Appiah of the United States will crown her successor at the end of the event. Miss Grand Myanmar 2021 is Amara Shune Lei

Amara Shune Lei, 25, has been officially announced as the newly appointed Miss Grand Myanmar 2021. The 25-year-old model, hairstylist, and makeup artist placed in the Top 8 during the Miss Earth 2020 virtual competition held in November last year. She will now prepare to represent her country at the Miss Grand International 2021 pageant in Thailand later this year. Miss Grand South Africa 2021 is Jeanè Van Dam

Jeanè Van Dam was crowned Miss Grand South Africa 2021 in a national competition held on Saturday, August 14. She succeeds last year's winner Anrónet Roelofsz. The 20-year-old model and dancer from Johannesburg is a law and commerce student. She will represent South Africa at the Miss Grand International 2021 competition later this year. Lu Juan Mzyk was the first runner-up while Danielle Van Zyl was the second runner-up. Genive Trimble and Jordan Van Rensburg were the third and fourth runners-up, respectively. The new Miss Grand South Africa is no stranger to pageantry. She was the first runner-up during last year's competition. "Last night I had the honour of sharing a stage with 26 incredible women. I formed friendships that will never never be forgotten," she shared on social media. "To all my sisters, I am so proud of how far you've come. Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien was officially named as the newly-appointed Miss Grand Vietnam 2021 on Thursday, August 12. She succeeds Miss Grand Vietnam 2020, Thao Le Ngoc Nguyen. The 23-year-old beauty will represent Vietnam at the Miss Grand International 2021 competition later this year. Thuy Tien is no stranger to pageantry as she placed in the Top 5 during Miss Vietnam 2018 and went on to represent her country at Miss International 2018. Binibining Pilipinas International 2021 is Hannah Arnold of Masbate

Masbate representative Hannah Arnold bested over 30 other contestants to win the Binibining Pilipinas 2021 pageant on Sunday, July 11 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City. The 24-year-old Filipino-Australian science advocate and model took home the title of Binibining Pilipinas International 2021 (Miss International Philippines) in her second attempt at the national competition. "Freedom of speech is a basic human right that we all must remember and it is important for democracy and with the upcoming elections, we definitely need free speech. On Twitter, we are limited to a few characters, and what I've seen from these tweets have been powerful and helped me think of who I would like to vote for in the upcoming elections," she said during the question and answer round. Where to watch Binibining Pilipinas 2021, new queens to be crowned tonight

In just a few hours, the Binibining Pilipinas 2021 coronation will take place for the first time without an audience at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City. After several cancellations and postponements due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the national competition will finally reach a culmination. Over 30 contestants will be vying for four coveted crowns at stake and the opportunity to represent the Philippines at Miss International, Miss Grand International, Miss Intercontinental, and Miss Globe. The pageant can be watched at 9:30 p.m. (Philippine time) live on A2Z Channel, Kapamilya Channel, Metro Channel, iWantTFC, and the Binibining Pilipinas online streaming platforms. Miss Mexico 2021 is Karolina Vidales of Michoacán

Michoacán representative Karolina Vidales was crowned Miss Mexico 2021 at Lago Di Como in Chihuahua on Saturday, July 3. The 24-year-old beauty holds a bachelor's degree in business administration. She bested 31 other contestants from across Mexico to win the national competition.  Karolina will represent her country at Miss World 2021 to be held in San Juan, Puerto Rico this December. Jalisco's Mariana Macías was named Miss Mexico Grand 2021 and will be sent to the Miss Grand International 2021 later this year. Previous winners, Ashley Alvídrez Estrada and Angela Yuriar crowned their respective successors at the end of the event. Señorita Panamá Grand 2021 is Massiell Llamas

A commercial pilot from Punta Fogón, Massiell Llamas, has been officially appointed as Señorita Panamá Grand 2021 (Miss Grand Panama) over the weekend. The 23-year-old beauty succeeds last year's titleholder Angie Keith and will now prepare to represent Panama at the Miss Grand International 2021 competition later this year. Massiell holds a bachelor's degree in aviation administration and presently a master's degree student in business administration with emphasis on human resources. A 26-year-old journalist from Juiz de Fora (Minas Gerais), Lorena Rodrigues, has been officially crowned as Miss Grand Brazil 2021. Lorena succeeds last year's Miss Grand Brazil and Miss Grand International 2020 fourth runner-up, Lala Guedes. She will represent her country at the Miss Grand International 2021 pageant. She succeeds Ivana Batchelor, who was second runner-up at Miss Grand International 2020 in Bangkok, Thailand last March. Madison Lynn Callaghan of North Carolina was crowned Miss Grand United States of America 2021 in a national competition held on Sunday, June 22 in Rosemont, Illinois. The 25-year-old entrepreneur succeeds Abena Appiah and will represent the USA at the Miss Grand International 2021 pageant, whose date and venue are yet to be announced. Taylor Gipson was named first runner-up while Gennesis Padron was the second runner-up. Sydney Rose and Emily Argo were the third and fourth runners-up, respectively. Miss Grand International 2020 Abena Appiah travels to US, Ecuador, and Mexico

The reigning Miss Grand International Abena Appiah has kicked off her first international tour since winning her title. She is scheduled to visit the US, Ecuador, and Mexico. Now based in Thailand for her reign, Abena left the Suvarnabhumi International Airport in Bangkok on Saturday, May 29 for her first destination, the USA. Part of her month-long itinerary is to attend as a special guest at the Miss Mexico 2021 pageant in Chihuahua this July.
