Binibining Pilipinas 2023, the 59th edition of the Binibining Pilipinas (Miss Philippines) pageant has begun and the Top 40 have been officially revealed. BPCI (Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Incorporated) launched its search last month for the next set of Filipinas who will represent the Philippines at different international pageants. This year's final screening and selection of contestants took place on Monday, February 6 at the New Frontier Theater in Araneta City. The date for the grand coronation night to be held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum has not yet been announced. Nicole Borromeo, Gabrielle Basiano, Chelsea Fernandez, and Roberta Tamondong will crown their successors at the end of the event. Miss Planet Philippines Maria Luisa Varela was crowned Miss Planet International 2023 on Sunday, January 29 at Koh Pich Theater in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The 26-year-old entrepreneur who also bagged the Social Media award became the first Filipina representative to win the international pageant. After almost a decade, Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Inc. (BPCI) officially announced its withdrawal from the Miss Grand International Organization. In an official statement released on Monday, November 7, BPCI revealed it will no longer renew its contract with the Thailand-based international pageant.
