Marizza Delgado was crowned Miss New York USA 2024 in a state competition on Sunday, June 30 at the Hilton Albany in New York. She succeeds last year's winner Rachelle Di Stasio. The 25-year-old Filipino-American fashion model, engineer and advocate for women in STEM will now represent the "Empire State" at Miss USA 2024 in Los Angeles, California this August. No stranger to pageantry, Marizza is a former Miss Pacific Coast Teen USA and Miss New York Earth USA. She placed in the Top 20 at Miss Earth USA 2021. The new Miss New York USA was born and raised in San Jose, California. Both of her parents were immigrants from the Philippines. She moved to the Big Apple to become a model and a data scientist. Miss Nation's Capital, Kleo Torres, was crowned Miss District of Columbia USA 2024 on Saturday, June 29 at the Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company in Washington, D.C. The 26-year-old former track and field athlete will be representing the District of Columbia at the Miss USA 2024 pageant in Hollywood, California this August. Kleo succeeds political science graduate Cassie Baloue, last year's winner who placed in the Top 20 at Miss USA 2023 in Reno, Nevada.
