Where to watch the 70th Miss Universe preliminary competition and national costume show

The highly-anticipated preliminary competition and national costume show of the 70th Miss Universe will take place tonight in Eilat, Israel. Around 80 of the world's most beautiful women will showcase their swimsuits bodies, evening gowns, and national costumes in front of the distinguished panel of judges. Their scores from the preliminary competition will help determine the semi-finalists on Sunday's final show. The preliminary competition will be streamed live at 7 p.m (Israel time) while the national costume show will follow at 9:30 p.m. (Israel time) on Facebook and YouTube channels of the Miss Universe pageant. 70th Miss Universe: MUBA Cosmetics photoshoot with Belgium, India, Philippines, Spain and Vietnam

Five contestants were chosen by the 70th Miss Universe makeup sponsor, MUBA Cosmetics, for a special photoshoot on Thursday, December 2. They are Belgium's Kedist Deltour, India's Harnaaz Sandhu, Philippines' Beatrice Lugigi Gomez, Spain's Sarah Loinaz, and Vietnam's Nguyen Huynh Kim Duyen. "MUBA photoshoot reflects on environmental sustainability and our impact on the world. The photo series spotlighting animal abstraction in danger of extinction, with cosmetic artistry inspired by the Pangolin, Red Panda, Angonoka Turtle, Military Macaw and Polar Bear," the makeup brand shared on its social media. 70th Miss Universe contestants tour Jerusalem old city in Israel

Despite imposing travel restrictions due to the Omicron coronavirus variant, Israel's hosting of the 70th Miss Universe pageant is pushing through. The contestants were taken to a tour of Jerusalem's old city on Tuesday, November 30 in their sneakers, pantsuits, and cocktail dresses. They visited some notable landmarks in the city such as the Tower of David Museum and Jerusalem Botanical Gardens. Their final itinerary of the day was a tea party at King David Hotel where they met with important persons such as Mayor Moshe Lion, local female politicians, and heads of organizations that fight poverty and violence against women. Over 70 beauties are expected to continue their journey to the Miss Universe crown in Eilat next week where they will go through a series of pre-pageant activities and preliminary competitions prior to the final on December 12. Miss USA 2021 Elle Smith crowning moment

The Miss USA organization has finally shared the crowning moment of this year's winner from Kentucky, Miss USA 2021 Elle Smith. The 23-year-old journalist was crowned by Asya Branch of Mississippi during Monday night's glittering final competition in Tulsa, Oklahoma. "I am thrilled and honored to be your Miss USA 2021. I can’t say thank you enough to every single person who has supported me on this journey. Every single comment, every single message, and prayer did not go unnoticed," she shared on her social media page. "To the great state of Kentucky, you will forever have my heart. You believed and loved on me since I was crowned in May and there is no other state I would have wanted to represent on the Miss USA stage," she added. Miss Universe France Clémence Botino tests positive for COVID-19 in Israel

Miss Universe France Clémence Botino will be isolated for 10 days after testing positive for COVID-19 upon arrival in Israel. The 24-year-old beauty who hails from Guadeloupe came to Israel to participate in the 70th Miss Universe pageant to be held on December 12. Unfortunately, her test results came back positive for the viral infection.  In a statement shared on her social media account, she said: "I was shocked and sad, it is truly hard. I'm a really positive person and I work really hard, and the past two years have been tough." "Even if it is hard I won't give up. Life has brought me to Israel and everything is ready. Every situation is supposed to make us stronger," she added. Clémence also encouraged her followers to be safe "because the virus is still here." There is no confirmation yet if she will be able to continue with participation in the upcoming Miss Universe final competition should her test comes back negative after isolating. P

Miss Kentucky USA Elle Smith wins Miss USA 2021

Miss Kentucky USA Elle Smith bested 50 other contestants to be crowned Miss USA 2021 on Monday, November 29 at the Paradise Cove Theater of River Spirit Casino Resort in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The 23-year-old reporter is a graduate of the University of Kentucky with a degree in broadcast journalism. She is the second woman from the state of Kentucky to win the national competition.  Caitlyn Vogel of North Dakota finished first runner-up while Ashley Carino of Florida and Sydni Bennett of Illinois were named the second and third runners-up, respectively. Maryland's Layilah Nasser, North Carolina's Madison Bryant, South Carolina's Marley Stokes, and Texas' Victoria Hinojosa completed the Top 8 finalists. In a few hours, over 70 beauties from across the world will arrive in Israel to compete for the coveted title of Miss Universe. Despite the current situation with the pandemic, the contestants are filled with excitement and positive energy to represent their countries on the prestigious global stage. Pre-arrival favorites are Paraguay, India, Venezuela, Puerto Rico, Thailand, Philippines, Colombia, South Africa, Argentina, France, Spain, Mexico, Vietnam, and Chile. Miss Danmark Organization's CEO Lisa Lents has officially announced Sara Langtved as Miss Universe Denmark 2021 on Thursday, November 25. The 26-year-old beauty is working in the legal department at a Danish university, Copenhagen Business School, where she is completing her degree in human resources. She succeeds Miss Universe Denmark 2020 Amanda Petri and will represent her country at the 70th Miss Universe pageant in Eilat, Israel on December 12. The 26-year-old business administration graduate from Can Tho received her official crown and sash from her predecessor and Miss Universe Top 21 semi-finalist, Nguyen Tran Khanh Van. Reigning Miss Universe Andrea Meza visits holy sites in Israel

The reigning Miss Universe from Mexico, Andrea Meza, toured around Israel ahead of the upcoming 70th Miss Universe competition to be held in the country this December. Her itinerary included a visit to holy sites in Jerusalem's Old City on Wednesday, November 17. Amid boycott calls and pressures on contestants, Israel pushes through its historic hosting of the Miss Universe pageant in Eilat. Over 70 beauties from around the world will soon arrive to compete for the prestigious title. According to Andrea, the pageant shouldn’t be politicized. The Mexican beauty will relinquish her crown on December 12 in the southern Israeli resort city. "Everyone with different beliefs, with different backgrounds, with different cultures, they all come together and when you are in there you forget about politics, about your religion," she told the press.
