This year's edition will be hosted by South African television personality, presenter, and author Anele Mdoda; and comedian, TV personality and YouTube sensation Moshe Ndiki while guest performers include Nadia Nakai, Boity Thulo, Rouge, Heavy-K, Elaine, Makhadzi, Lloyiso, and Ndoni. Mideline Phelizord was crowned Miss Haiti 2022 (Miss Universe Haiti 2022) on Friday, August 12 at Hotel Villa Cana in Cap-Haitien. The 27-year-old law science graduate and entrepreneur from Port-au-Prince edged out seven other finalists to win her title. She succeeds last year's titleholder Pascale Bélony and will represent her Caribbean country at Miss Universe 2022. Valierie Alcide and Murielle Brunache were named the first and second runners-up, respectively. The new Miss Haiti is no stranger to pageantry. In 2018, she was first runner-up in Miss World Haiti and was also named Miss Supranational Haiti. She went on to participate in Miss Supranational 2018 where she was awarded Top Model Caribbean. Cassia Sharpley, 21, from Windhoek, bested 11 other finalists to be crowned Miss Namibia 2022 on Friday, August 12 at the Windhoek Country Club Resort and Casino. Leoné Van Jaarsveld, 26, from Swakopmund was named first runner-up while Diana Andimba, 23, from Windhoek finished as second runner-up. The new Miss Namibia is a basic life support paramedic and student at Namibia University of Science and Technology pursuing a degree in emergency medical care (advanced life support). As a poverty eradication activist, Cassia founded the Honey Comb Haven Foundation to help the less fortunate members of her community. Last year's winner, Chelsi Shikongo, relinquished her crown to her successor at the end of the competition. Miss Fajardo, Ashley Ann Cariño, was crowned Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2022 in a glittering competition that took place on Thursday, August 11 at the Centro de Bellas Artes Luis A. Ferré, also known as Bellas Artes de Santurce in San Juan. The 27-year-old beauty succeeds last year's winner Michelle Colón of Loíza and will represent Puerto Rico at the 71st Miss Universe pageant (Miss Universe 2022) later this year.
