Miss Nepal 2023: Meet the 24 contestants

Miss Nepal 2023, the 27th edition of the Miss Nepal pageant presented by Dabur Vatika will be held on May 27 at the Godavari Sunrise Convention Center in Lalitpur. Following rounds of auditions across all provinces of the country, a total of 24 contestants were officially sashed last March 31 by The Hidden Treasure Director Diwakar Rajkarnikar at Park Village Resort, Budalinkantha. Three new titleholders will be crowned by outgoing queens Miss Nepal World 2022 Priyanka Rani Joshi, Miss Nepal Earth 2022 Sareesha Shrestha, and Miss Nepal International 2022 Nancy Khadka at the culmination of this year's event. Their respective successors will go on to represent Nepal at international competitions — Miss World 2024, Miss Earth 2023 (Vietnam), and Miss International 2023 (Japan) pageants. The grand coronation show of Miss Nepal 2023 will be broadcast exclusively on Kantipur Television (KTV) and live streaming on the pageant's official YouTube channel. Meet the 24 contestants:

The start-studded Femina Miss India 2023 Awards Night was held on Wednesday, March 22 at the Time Virtual Studio in Vile Parle, Mumbai. Reigning Miss World Karolina Bielawska, who just arrived in Mumbai, attended the red carpet event wearing a beautiful traditional lehenga by Falguni Shane Peacock India. The glittering show also featured breathtaking performances and the Top 30 state winners' presentations in front of the judges consisting of former Miss India Neha Dhupia, fashion designers Sahil Kochhar and Pallavi Mohan, and director and choreographer Bosco Martis. Miss World Montenegro 2023 is Andjela Vukadinovic

Andjela Vukadinovic (Anđela Vukadinović) was crowned Miss Crne Gore 2023 (Miss Montenegro / Miss World Montenegro) in a national pageant held last March 11 at the Regent Porto Montenegro. The 22-year-old model and economics student from Tivat bested 11 other finalists to win her title. She also bagged two special awards — Miss Photogenic and Face of the Regent Hotel. Katarina Lukovac and Maša Žugić were named the first and second runners-up, respectively, while Anastasija Dragović and Monika Radović rounded out the Top 5 finalists. Out of hundreds of applications, a total of only 12 contestants were selected to take part in this year's final competition. The new Miss Montenegro is now expected to represent her country at the 71st Miss World (Miss World 2023) edition in India on a date yet to be announced. Miss Uganda 2023 is Hannah Karema Tumukunde

Hannah Karema Tumukunde has been crowned Miss Uganda 2023/2024 in a glittering show held on Saturday, March 18 at UMA Multipurpose Hall in Kampala, Uganda. The 20-year-old model from Nakaseke bested 20 other competitors to win her national title. She succeeded Elizabeth Bagaya and will prepare to represent Uganda at the 71st Miss World in India later this year. Whitney Martha Ademum and Premah Prossy Agwang were named the first and second runners-up, respectively, while Jesca Sserwadda and Jerusha Muwanguzi were the rest of the Top 5 finalists. Hosted by Mitch Egwang and Anita Fabiola, this year's final event marked the return of the Miss Uganda pageant following a three-year break due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Uganda, an east African country, has yet to win the Miss World crown since its debut in 1967. Its highest placement was Top 5 in 2018 with Quiin Abenakyo. Miss World Barbados 2023 is Ashley Carrington

Ashley Carrington edged out five other contestants to win Miss World Barbados 2023 on Saturday, March 11 at The Walled Garden Theatre, Barbados Museum & Historical Society in Bridgetown. The 23-year-old animal lover, model, and management student at the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill, will now prepare to represent Barbados at the 71st Miss World edition in India later this year. She succeeded Miss World Barbados 2019 Che Amor Greenidge who participated in the Miss World 2019 pageant held in London, United Kingdom. Rhenea Gaskin, Chloe Millar, Katiana Worrell, Cya Layne, and Junia Harris were the rest of the six finalists. The new Miss World Barbados also works in the medical field and volunteers regularly at a veterinary clinic. Malaysian actress and former beauty queen Michelle Yeoh bagged the Best Actress award at Oscars 2023 for her notable performance in the 2022 sci-fi/adventure/comedy film Everything Everywhere All at Once. For the first time in history, the next Miss Ukraine who will represent her country at Miss World 2023 will be chosen only through online voting. The announcement was made in Kyiv by the chairperson of the Miss Ukraine Committee, Veronika Shchiptsova, who also mentioned the importance of running the competition despite the military aggression in the country. According to Veronika, it will be an opportunity for the next Ukrainian representative on the prestigious global stage to draw attention to the ongoing conflict. The casting was done in person and online as some aspirants were forced to travel abroad. A total of 15 selected finalists, yet to be announced, will be vying for the national title. Following several rounds of auditions across the country, the Top 30 state winners of Femina Miss India 2023 have been officially revealed. The national pageant is expected to hold its 59th edition this April at Imphal, Manipur, but the exact date of the final competition is yet to be announced. Last year's winner Sini Shetty of Karnataka, who will represent India at the 71st Miss World edition (Miss World 2023), will crown her successor at the end of the event. 70th Miss World Karolina Bielawska visits Monterrey, Mexico

70th Miss World Karolina Bielawska touched down in Monterrey, the capital of the northeastern Mexican state of Nuevo León at the start of her 5-day visit to the country. The Polish beauty queen was also reunited with her Miss World sister Karolina Vidales (the reigning Miss World Mexico and 70th Miss World Top 6 finalist). They both took the opportunity to catch up while enjoying the afternoon sunshine in the beautiful Santa Lucia Park which hosts the annual Santa Lucia International Festival. The famous festival is the biggest cultural event in Nuevo León. Miss Belgium 2023 is Emilie Vansteenkiste

Miss Vlaams-Brabant, Emilie Vansteenkiste, was crowned Miss Belgium 2023 in a glittering competition held on Saturday, February 11 at the Proximus Theater in De Panne. The 21-year-old Latin dancer and occupational therapy student originally from Elewijt in Flemish Brabant bested 31 other contestants to win the national title. She will either represent her country at Miss World or Miss Universe or both. Claire Lansenebre and Victoria Kembukuswa were named the first and second runners-up, respectively, while Cécile Deltour, Haifa Salem Ali, and Lena Forseille rounded out the Top 6 finalists. Last year's winner, Chayenne van Aarle was not able to pass the crown to her successor as she is still recovering from a serious car accident that happened a few days before the final competition. The show went as planned but faced some delays due to an arrest of a man in his 40s near the venue. He was suspected of an attack as he found a weapon in his possession and a second one in his vehicle.

Miss Thailand Organization has just announced that the next Miss Thailand winner will be sent to Miss World 2023 The exciting news was revealed by organizers, the TPN Global, during the press conference for Miss Thailand 2023 on Monday, February 6 at the Paragon Cineplex in Bangkok. This year's competition is themed the "Ultimate Precious" and around 77 contestants each representing provinces of the country are expected to take part. The 54th Miss Thailand edition will be held this March and pre-pageant activities will be hosted in the southern province of Phatthalung. At the end of the event, last year's winner Manita Farmer will crown her successor who will take home 1 million baht in cash and many other prizes. Miss Czech Republic 2023: Meet the Top 11 finalists

The Top 11 official finalists vying for Miss Czech Republic 2023 have been officially announced on Thursday, January 26 at Aureole restaurant in Prague. Along with the special presentation of the 11 competitors, a brand new crown designed by jeweler Olga Kopalova was also unveiled. The finalists and a 40-member team were next taken to the DoubleTree by Hilton Resort & Spa Marjan Island in the United Arab Emirates where they will train and prepare for the grand coronation. Miss Czech Republic 2023 final show will be held on May 13 at the Forum Karlín in Prague where five national titles are at stake. The winners are expected to represent the Czech Republic at Miss World 2024, Miss International 2023, Miss Supranational 2023, Miss Grand International 2023, and Miss Intercontinental 2023.
