Gerhard Partzutka Von Lipinski, president of the Miss Supranational pageant, has released an official statement that Russia has been banned from participating in the Poland-based international pageant. The Miss Supranational Organization made the decision to join the countries, sports federations, and cultural events around the world that imposed sanctions on Russia due to its ongoing invasion of Ukraine. "We will not accept a contestant from Russia as we cannot condone the actions of the Kremlin," the organization said in a statement posted on social media. Ukraine has been a very special part of the Supra family since Oksana Moria won its inaugural competition in 2009 in Płock, Poland.
