11th Mr World host country officially announced

The host country of the 11th Mr World (Mr World 2024) has been officially announced on Monday, March 18. In an official post on social media, the organizers shared the much-awaited announcement of Vietnam as this year's host country for the prestigious male competition. "Vietnam, Southeast Asia's most diverse nation, the land of the ascending Dragon, will host the 11th edition of Mr World," posted on Mr World's official Instagram page. "The Festival is back with new and exciting features like you have never seen before. With a record number of countries and territories, Mr World is coming to you in September of 2024." Mr World was last held in August 2019 in Manila, Philippines. The reigning Mr World is an aerospace engineer from England, Jack Heselewood. Miss Earth 2023: Vietnam's Do Thi Lan Anh wins Best in National Costume

Vietnam's Do Thi Lan Anh has been announced the winner of the Best in National Costume during the Miss Earth 2023 finals and coronation on Friday, December 22 at Van Phuc City. Designed by the talented Vietnamese fashion designer Nguyen Tien Truyen, her "Nu Vuong" costume was showcased during the preliminary competition held on December 16 at the Van Thanh Flower Village in Dalat. "A deeper love for my Vietnamese heritage that is full of wonder and beauty. It feels surreal that I was given the opportunity to showcase a part of my nation’s history and honor the Vietnamese heroes of the past," she shared online. Chile's Ximena Huala, Indonesia's Cindy Inanto, Philippines' Yllana Marie Aduana, and Venezuela's Jhosskaren Smiller were the rest of the Top 5 for the award. Vietnam announced as host country for Miss Earth 2024

After the successful staging of the Miss Earth 2023, Vietnam will again host the annual Miss Earth competition in 2024. The announcement was made by TNA Entertainment's Truong Ngoc Anh during the coronation night of the 23rd Miss Earth on Friday, December 22 in Ho Chi Minh City. If pushed through, Miss Earth 2024 will be the third Miss Earth edition to be held in Vietnam after 2010 and 2023. Further details for next year's event have yet to be announced. Albania's Drita Ziri wins Miss Earth 2023, first crown for the Balkan country

Albania's Drita Ziri bested 84 other contestants to be crowned Miss Earth 2023 on Friday, December 22 at Van Phuc City in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The 18-year-old model and TV host from Fushë-Krujë made history as she became the first-ever Albanian representative to win the Miss Earth title. Yllana Marie Aduana of the Philippines, Do Thi Lan Anh of Vietnam and Cora Bliault of Thailand were crowned Miss Earth Air, Miss Earth Water, and Miss Earth Fire, respectively. Morgana Carlos of Brazil, Dilnaz Tilaeva of Kazakhstan, Noa Claus of the Netherlands, and Daria Lukonkina of Russia were in the Top 8 and were sashed as runners-up. The new Miss Earth received her crown by Long Beach Pearl from her predecessor from Korea, Mina Sue Choi. Miss Earth 2023, the much-awaited 23rd Miss Earth competition is culminating tonight at Van Phuc City in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Miss Earth's brand new crowns by renowned Vietnamese brand Long Beach Pearl have been officially unveiled. The main crown for the winner carries the theme of "Unique Bonds - One Planet" symbolizing the harmony between nature and humanity. Its design was brought to life by the founder of the Long Beach Pearl, entrepreneur Bui Thi My Canh, along with the talented artisans of the brand, showcasing the journey of honoring Vietnam's beauty and its inherent connection with nature. It is made of gold, combined with pearls and gemstones in vibrant colors, and features a total of 87 precious pearls. Online voting was conducted on Miss Earth's official Facebook page following the national costume competition held on Saturday, December 16 at the Van Thanh Flower Village in Dalat, Vietnam. Vietnam's Do Lan Anh has been announced the winner of the Best Appearance at Miss Earth 2023 blue carpet welcome event which was held last December 3 at the Opera House in Ho Chi Minh City. The 26-year-old was voted by fans from December 4 to December 8 on the official social media page of the Miss Earth competition. As previously announced, the rest of the Top 5 finalists for the award were beauties from Cambodia (Pouvjessica Tan), Mongolia (Munkhchimeg Batjargal), Myanmar (Soung Hnin San), and the Philippines (Yllana Aduana). Five returning countries from the region this year consist of Bangladesh, Cambodia, Kazakhstan, Myanmar, and the Northern Marianas. Asia and Oceania have held the title of Miss Earth six times since the first edition of the pageant in 2001. The Philippines leads with four wins, two of which were back-to-back in 2014 and 2015. Twenty-seven of the 86 contestants currently vying for Miss Earth 2023 in Vietnam came from the region of Europe. Returning countries this year include Armenia, Denmark, Germany and Ukraine. After winning the inaugural Miss Earth competition in 2001 with Denmark's Catharina Svensson, the region managed to achieve two more victories — Bosnia and Herzegovina's Dzejla Glavovic in 2002 (dethroned) and Czech Republic's Tereza Fajksova in 2012. Europe's last placement in the Top 4 was in 2020 with Michala Rubinstein of Denmark who bagged the Miss Earth - Fire title.
