The Top 20 semi-finalists vying for the title of Miss Universe Nepal 2022 have been officially revealed. This year's edition will take place on Thursday, August 25 at Nepal's finest 5-star luxury Hotel Yak & Yeti in Kathmandu and the winner will compete in Miss Universe 2022. Reigning Miss Universe Nepal Sujita Basnet will crown her successor among the 20 beauties at the end of the event. Washington's Morgan Greco was crowned Miss America's Outstanding Teen 2023 on Friday, August 12 at the Hyatt Regency in Dallas, Texas. The runners-up were Lauren Williams of the District of Columbia, J-Belle Kimbrell of Texas, Julia Schumacher of Minnesota, and Dajania James of New York. Last year's winner, an actress and singer from Birmingham, Alabama, Marcelle LeBlanc, crowned her successor at the end of the event. A total of 51 most talented teens from across the USA competed in the American scholarship pageant that aims to "promote scholastic achievement, creative accomplishment, healthy living and community involvement for America's teens." Ashley Lightburn was crowned Miss Belize 2022 (Miss Universe Belize) on Saturday, August 13 at the Bliss Center for Performing Arts in Belize City. The 25-year-old mathematician is an adjunct math lecturer at the University of Belize and a project management officer at a bank. She holds a degree in pure mathematics and currently pursuing her master's in international business administration. Alina Scott and Samantha Singh were the first and second runners-up, respectively. A total of six finalists participated in this year's Miss Belize competition. Last year's titleholder Iris Salguero crowned her successor at the end of the event. Ida Anette Hauan bested five other finalists to be crowned Miss Norway 2022 (Miss Universe Norway) on Saturday, August 13 at Samfunnssalen in Oslo. The 26-year-old model from Malvik, Trondheim succeeds last year's titleholder Nora Emilie Nakken and will represent Norway at Miss Universe 2022. Romée Dahlen, Julie Dahlen Børresen, Leni Kvalvåg, and Ida Sofie Skinlo Seater were respectively named the first, second, third, and fourth runners-up while Charlotte Bøhn-Bore completed the six finalists. Sabrina Deraneck was proclaimed Miss Grand Venezuela 2022 on Saturday, August 13 at Teatro Municipal de Caracas (Municipal Theater of Caracas). The 23-year-old teacher by profession from the state of Mérida will represent her country at Miss Grand International 2022 in Indonesia this October. Alia Abized, 19, of Nueva Esparta, and Valentina Martinez, 22, of Anzoátegui were named Miss Elite Venezuela and Miss Grand Venezuela 2023, respectively. They are expected to compete in next year's Miss Elite World and Miss Grand International editions. A total of 22 beauties participated during the first edition of Miss Grand Venezuela. Ndavi Nokeri bested nine other finalists to be crowned Miss South Africa 2022 in a glittering competition held on Saturday, August 13 at the SunBet Arena, Time Square in Pretoria. The 23-year-old beauty hails from Tzaneen in Limpopo. She holds a degree in investment management from the University of Pretoria and currently works for an asset management firm in Cape Town. Mideline Phelizord was crowned Miss Haiti 2022 (Miss Universe Haiti 2022) on Friday, August 12 at Hotel Villa Cana in Cap-Haitien. The 27-year-old law science graduate and entrepreneur from Port-au-Prince edged out seven other finalists to win her title. She succeeds last year's titleholder Pascale Bélony and will represent her Caribbean country at Miss Universe 2022. Valierie Alcide and Murielle Brunache were named the first and second runners-up, respectively. The new Miss Haiti is no stranger to pageantry. Cassia Sharpley, 21, from Windhoek, bested 11 other finalists to be crowned Miss Namibia 2022 on Friday, August 12 at the Windhoek Country Club Resort and Casino. Leoné Van Jaarsveld, 26, from Swakopmund was named first runner-up while Diana Andimba, 23, from Windhoek finished as second runner-up. The new Miss Namibia is a basic life support paramedic and student at Namibia University of Science and Technology pursuing a degree in emergency medical care (advanced life support). As a poverty eradication activist, Cassia founded the Honey Comb Haven Foundation to help the less fortunate members of her community. Last year's winner, Chelsi Shikongo, relinquished her crown to her successor at the end of the competition. Huynh Nguyen Mai Phuong was crowned Miss World Vietnam 2022 on Friday, August 12 at MerryLand Quy Nhon in the province of Binh Dinh. The 22-year-old beauty from Dong Nai province bested 36 other contestants to win her national title. She will represent her country at the 71st Miss World competition. Le Nguyen Bao Ngoc and Nguyen Phuong Nhi were the first and second runners-up, respectively, while Nguyen Thi Phuong Linh and Nguyen Thuy Linh completed the Top 5 finalists. The new Miss World Vietnam is no stranger to pageantry. She won Miss Dong Nai University 2018 in her first pageant and placed in the Top 5 in Miss Vietnam 2020. Miss Fajardo, Ashley Ann Cariño, was crowned Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2022 in a glittering competition that took place on Thursday, August 11 at the Centro de Bellas Artes Luis A. Ferré, also known as Bellas Artes de Santurce in San Juan. The 27-year-old beauty succeeds last year's winner Michelle Colón of Loíza and will represent Puerto Rico at the 71st Miss Universe pageant (Miss Universe 2022) later this year. Leonela González De Jesús of Dorado and Camille Fabery Diana of Cataño were named the first and second runners-up, respectively. Miss Los Ángeles, Daniela Riquelme, was crowned Miss Earth Chile 2022 on Wednesday, August 10 at Centro Cultural Espacio Matta in La Granja. The 22-year-old medical student, and catwalk and self-esteem instructor is the creator of the "Yo está a Tiempo" where she promotes self-care and prevention of breast and cervical cancer. Miss Santiago, Camila Vásquez placed second and was named Miss Air while the representatives of La Calera, Damaris Contreras, and Paine, Javiera Rivas, were awarded the titles of Miss Water, and Fire, respectively. Bárbara Pacheco placed fifth while the remaining finalists were Kahina Muñoz from Calama and Paula Bernal of Viña del Mar.
