Mayuko Hanawa was crowned Miss Supranational Japan 2022 on Saturday, September 24 at the Kanda Myojin Hall in Tokyo. The 27-year-old Japanese-Filipino teacher who represented the Ibaraki Prefecture will now prepare to compete in the Miss Supranational 2023 pageant in Poland. Miss Aichi, Ayano Shinkawa, 28, and Miss Shizuoka, Riho Sasaki, 22, were the first and second runners-up, respectively. A total of 18 finalists were selected to participate in the national final. At the end of the event, last year's winner Rina Okada relinquished her reign. Miss Vale do Tejo 2021 Nadiuska Gutierrez will represent Portugal at the 50th Miss Intercontinental pageant in Sharm El Sheik, Egypt this October. The 19-year-old industrial biotechnology student at the Lodz University of Technology was named the second runner-up during Miss Polonia 2022 national final in May.
