71st Miss Universe: Contestants' profiles are out, fan voting now open

The profiles of the contestants vying for the 71st Miss Universe title are now available on the official website and app of the Miss Universe pageant. Fan voting is officially open and the contestant with the highest votes will automatically earn a spot in the semifinals. Only the first vote is free and additional votes can be purchased. A total of 86 countries are confirmed to participate in the upcoming competition based on the available profiles posted by the Miss Universe Organization. The final show will be held on January 14 at the New Orleans Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA. Miss Angola Mundo 2022 is Florinda José of Benguela

Florinda José was crowned Miss Angola Mundo 2022 (Miss World Angola) in a national competition held on Friday, November 11 in Luanda. The 21-year-old education science student from Benguela succeeds last year's titleholder Ruth Carlos and will now prepare to represent Angola at the 71st Miss World pageant. Pâmela Esteves and Jurema Chipato were announced as the first and second runners-up, respectively. Angola has yet to win the Miss World pageant. Miss Washington Teen USA 2023 is Mackenzie Kuiken of South Bend

Mackenzie Kuiken, representing South Bend, was crowned Miss Washington Teen USA 2023 on Sunday, November 13 at the IKEA Performing Arts Center in Renton. The 16-year-old South Bend High School student succeeds last year's winner Kate Dixon and will now prepare to represent Washington at the Miss Teen USA 2023 pageant. Puget Sound representative Angelique Dela Cruz was named first runner-up while Summer Petrisko of Snoqualmie, Ella Roehr of Pierce County, and Calli Warren of Lewis County rounded out the Top 5 finalists. The new Miss Washington Teen USA is a member of her school's varsity cheer, volleyball, basketball, and track teams. Additionally, she is part of the National Honor Society and the social media manager for Key Club. Mackenzie’s platform “Girls with Game” is advocating the importance of physical and mental health by encouraging girls to get involved in sports, clubs, and the arts. Send-off party held for Miss International Philippines Hannah Arnold

Binibining Pilipinas International 2021 (Miss International Philippines) Hannah Arnold received her official send-off party for Miss International 2022 on Tuesday, November 15 at the Novotel Hotel in Araneta City, Cubao. Over a year after winning her national title, the 26-year-old Filipino-Australian beauty will finally be heading to Tokyo, Japan for the international competition which is scheduled to be held on December 13 at the Tokyo Dome City Hall. Her sister queens including former Miss International Lara Quigamanwere present during her send-off to share support and words of encouragement as she tries to bring home her country's 7th Miss International crown. Miss Earth 2022: Australia, Colombia, Netherlands, and Nigeria win press presentation

Over 80 eco-warriors made it to the Miss Earth 2022 official press presentation on Monday, November 14 at the Cove Manila (Okada Manila) in Parañaque City. The contestants strutted their stuff down the runway wearing their official swimwear sponsored by Ricky Abad in front of the local and international media. Standouts were beauties from Australia, Belize, Colombia, Cuba, Nigeria, Peru, Philippines, Portugal, Russia, Thailand, USA, Venezuela, Vietnam, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. Four continental medalists were voted "Darling of the Press" and they are Australia's Sheridan Mortlock for Asia and Oceania, Colombia's Andrea Aguilera for the Americas, Netherlands' Merel Hendriksen for Europe, and Nigeria's Esther Ajayi for Africa. Emma Morrison was crowned Miss World Canada 2022 from a field of 50 competitors during the national pageant on Sunday, November 13 at the Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts in Ontario. The 22-year-old proud Muskegowuk Cree woman and indigenous crafts artist from Chapleau made history by becoming the first-ever Cree First Nations titleholder. Miss King County, Samantha Gallia was crowned Miss Washington USA 2023 in the state competition held on Sunday, November 13 at the Renton IKEA Performing Arts Center. The 24-year-old breast cancer support advocate is a graduate of a doctorate degree in dentistry from the University of the Pacific and is currently an oral and maxillofacial radiology resident at the University of Washington. She succeeded last year's winner Mazzy Eckel and will now represent Washington at Miss USA 2023 in Reno, Nevada. Miss Atlántico, Sofía Osío Luna, was crowned Señorita Colombia 2022 - 2023 (Miss Colombia) on Sunday, November 13 at the Centro de Convenciones Cartagena de Indias in Cartagena, Bolívar. The 22-year-old graduate of fashion marketing and communication from Barranquilla beat 28 other contestants to win the "Concurso Nacional de Belleza" and wear the new crown by Caribbean Jewelry. She succeeds last year's winner Valentina Espinosa of Bolivar and is now expected to represent Colombia at Miss International 2023 in Japan. Miss Denmark Organization headed by its CEO Lisa Lents proudly announced Dana Myrvig as Miss International Denmark 2022 and will head over to the Miss International 2022 in Tokyo, Japan this December. The 26-year-old social educator, activist, and model graduated with a bachelor's degree in social education and a diploma in neuropsychology. She was a finalist in Miss Denmark 2019 and now succeeded Anna Diekelmann, Miss International Denmark 2019. Dana was born in Mali to a Danish father and a Sudanese mother. Over the last six years, she has been passionate about charity and volunteering, especially for disabled people and children, and her biggest dream is to open her own volunteer center.
