Gerhard Partzutka Von Lipinski, president of the Miss Supranational pageant, has released an official statement that Russia has been banned from participating in the Poland-based international pageant. The Miss Supranational Organization made the decision to join the countries, sports federations, and cultural events around the world that imposed sanctions on Russia due to its ongoing invasion of Ukraine. "We will not accept a contestant from Russia as we cannot condone the actions of the Kremlin," the organization said in a statement posted on social media. Ukraine has been a very special part of the Supra family since Oksana Moria won its inaugural competition in 2009 in Płock, Poland. Aleksandra Yaremchuk was crowned Miss Ukraine 2021 in a glittering national competition held last October 21 in Kyiv. The 22-year-old professional dancer from Vinnytsia holds a degree in business management from University of Kyiv. She bested 24 other beauties to win her title. "An unforgettable day in my life, unsurpassed emotions. Thank you Miss Ukraine for this opportunity," she said. The new Miss Ukraine will represent her country at the 70th Miss World pageant in San Juan, Puerto Rico this December. Anna Neplyah was crowned Miss Ukraine Universe 2021 in a national competition held in Kyiv last Friday, October 15. The 27-year-old model succeeds Yelyzaveta Yastremska and will now represent Ukraine at the 70th Miss Universe pageant in Eilat, Israel this December. Victoria Apanasenko was the first runner-up while Diana Dudka and Nelya Popovich were respectively named Miss Charm Ukraine and Miss Eco International Ukraine 2021.
