Miss Universe Indonesia unveils 'Shimmering Hope' crown

The Miss Universe Indonesia organization under Capella Swastika Karya and national director Poppy Capella officially unveiled the "Shimmering Hope" crown on Monday, May 29 in Jakarta. Crafted by Indonesian gold jewelry maker UBS Gold, the new masterpiece will be used for the coronation of whoever wins Miss Universe Indonesia 2023 on a date and venue yet to be announced. From the word shimmer, meaning to shine with a flickering or wavering light, and hope, a feeling of expectation and desire for a certain thing to happen, the crown according to the organization represents leadership characterized by radiance, brilliance, and hope. Those who wear it are called to embody those qualities and use their power to inspire hope and optimism in others and are committed to social justice, human rights, and the welfare of everyone in society. Palawan's Angelica Lopez wins Binibining Pilipinas International 2023

Angelica Lopez was crowned Binibining Pilipinas International 2023 during the 59th Binibining Pilipinas edition on Sunday, May 28 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City. The 22-year-old model and psychology student from Palawan bested 30 other competitors to win the title. She will now prepare to represent the Philippines at Miss International 2024. Binibining Pilipinas Globe 2023 went to Anna Valencia Lakrini, 25, from Bataan. She will travel to Albania for The Miss Globe 2023 pageant. Katrina Anne Johnson of Davao del Sur and Atasha Reign Parani of General Trias Cavite were named the first and second runners-up, respectively. Last year's winners Nicole Borromeo and Chelsea Fernandez, and runners-up Nicole Budol and Stacey Gabriel crowned their respective successors at the end of the glittering event. Kim Rossen bested six other competitors to win Miss Universe Curacao 2023 on Saturday, May 27 at the World Trade Center (WTC) in Willemstad. The 25-year-old model, athlete, and occupational therapist living in Rotterdam, Netherlands will now prepare to represent Curacao at Miss Universe 2023 in El Salvador later this year. No stranger to pageantry, the University of Rotterdam graduate was first runner-up when she participated in Miss Curacao Holland 2023 last December. This year's Miss Universe Curacao final competition was hosted by Venezuelan television presenter Maite Delgado. Bianty Gomperts was named first runner-up while Kimberly Fernandes was announced as the second runner-up. The rest of the finalists were Kimberley Becker, Nethania Hill, Julia Schreiber, and Thianny Braafhart. Miss Earth Ireland 2023 is Layla Doherty

Inishowen's Layla Doherty bested 20 other competitors from all over the country to win the Miss Earth Ireland 2023 pageant on Saturday, May 27 in Galway. The 21-year-old freelance model and Maple Store Ballyliffin employee will now prepare to represent Ireland at Miss Earth 2023 in Vietnam later this year. Her court of runners-up includes Abigail Walsh, Leah Sheehan, and Kevea Gallagher. They were awarded the titles Miss Earth Air, Miss Earth Water, and Miss Earth Fire Ireland 2023, respectively. Miss Grand Nicaragua 2023 is Glennys Medina

Miss Grand Rivas, Glennys Medina was crowned Miss Grand Nicaragua 2023 in a national competition held on Wednesday, May 24 at Holiday Inn Managua. The 21-year-old diplomacy and international relations graduate from Rivas bested 11 other competitors to win the national title. Gabriela Saballos Leon, Yolaina Guillen, Lisseth Cardenas Palacios, Keytel Price, Esther Ruiz, and Mayerlin Sanchez were declared as the runners-up. The new Miss Grand Nicaragua is no stranger to pageantry. In 2021, she also represented her hometown at Miss Universe Nicaragua and finished as first runner-up. Glennys succeeds last year's titleholder Maycrin Juliette Jáenz and will now prepare for the Miss Grand International 2023 pageant to be held in Vietnam this October. Jalisco's Luis Carlos Garcia Cuadra was named Mister Supranational Mexico 2023 on Saturday, May 27 at Teatro Clavijero in Veracruz. The 30-year-old model, dentist, and sports enthusiast succeeded last year's titleholder and Mister Supranational 2022 third runner-up, Moises Peñaloza. Jonathan Hurtado of Coahuila and Mauricio Cuevas Arouesty of Yucatan were the runners-up while Brian Avelar of Chiapas and Felipe Lopez of Nuevo Leon rounded out the Top 5 finalists. Contestant number 17   Srichchha Pradhan, a Bennington College graduate with a degree in environmental studies, was proclaimed Miss Nepal World 2023. Raina Majgaiya, a commercial pilot, clinched the title Miss Nepal Earth 2023 while Prasiddhy Shah, also an environmental studies graduate, was named Miss Nepal International 2023. They are expected to represent Nepal at Miss World 2024, Miss Earth 2023 (Vietnam), and Miss International 2023 (Japan), respectively. A total of 24 contestants from around the country were selected to take part in the 27th edition of the Miss Nepal pageant.
