Miss Grand International 2021 Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien has finally returned to her home country Vietnam a month after winning her international beauty title in Bangkok, Thailand. The Vietnamese beauty queen was warmly welcomed by her fellow countrymen during today's homecoming parade and ceremony held in Ho Chi Minh City. She is expected to stay a few weeks in her country before flying back to Thailand where she is based during her reign. Tien bested over 50 other contestants to win her country's first Miss Grand International title in December of last year at the SHOW DC Hall in Bangkok. "Time flies so fast, can’t believe it’s been a month since the day I wear the crown. I will try my best on my reign to make you proud," she shared online almost a week before her homecoming. Vu Huyen Dieu, the representative of Vietnam, was crowned Miss Eco Teen International 2021 at Triumph Luxury Hotel in Cairo, Egypt. The 13-year-old beauty from Ho Chi Minh City succeeds Miss Eco Teen 2020 Roberta Tamondong of the Philippines. She is the youngest winner of the Egypt-based competition that promotes environmental causes for teenagers. Philippines' Tatyana Austria was named first runner-up while USA's Lia Macias placed second runner-up. The contestants from Belgium, Cameron lommelen, and Egypt, Habiba Osman were the third and fourth runners-up, respectively. Miss Grand Vietnam, Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien, bested over 50 other contestants to be crowned Miss Grand International 2021 on Saturday, December 4 at the SHOW DC Hall in Bangkok, Thailand. The 23-year-old hospitality management student succeeds Abena of the United States of America. She's the first-ever Vietnamese woman to win the Miss Grand International beauty title. Ecuador's Andrea Victoria Aguilera finished first runner-up while Brazil's Lorena Goncalves Rodrigues was named the second runner-up. Vivianie Diaz Arroyo of Puerto Rico and Jeane Van Dam of South Africa were the third and fourth runners-up, respectively. The rest of the Top 10 finalists are from Cambodia, Pokimtheng Sothida (Miss Popular Vote), Costa Rica, Adriana Moya Alvarado, Indonesia, Sophia Louise Rogan, Spain, Alba Dunkerbeck Morales, and Venezuela, Vanessa Carolina Coello Coraspe. Nguyen Huynh Kim Duyen has finally been officially crowned as Miss Universe Vietnam 2021 during her send-off event held on Saturday, November 20 prior to her departure for the Miss Universe competition in Israel. The 26-year-old business administration graduate from Can Tho received her official crown and sash from her predecessor and Miss Universe Top 21 semi-finalist, Nguyen Tran Khanh Van. Nguyen Van Anh has been officially named Miss Earth Vietnam 2021 and will now represent her country at the Miss Earth 2021 virtual competition this November. The 26-year-old sales and marketing professional who co-founded a start-up business succeeds last year's titleholder, Thai Thị Hoa. Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien was officially named as the newly-appointed Miss Grand Vietnam 2021 on Thursday, August 12. She succeeds Miss Grand Vietnam 2020, Thao Le Ngoc Nguyen. The 23-year-old beauty will represent Vietnam at the Miss Grand International 2021 competition later this year. Thuy Tien is no stranger to pageantry as she placed in the Top 5 during Miss Vietnam 2018 and went on to represent her country at Miss International 2018. Nguyen Huynh Kim Duyen has been officially announced by her national pageant organization on Tuesday, May 18 as the newly appointed Miss Universe Vietnam 2021. The 25-year-old business administration graduate from Can Tho was first runner-up to Nguyen Tran Khanh Van during Miss Universe Vietnam 2019 competition. Kim Duyen is expected to represent her country at the 70th Miss Universe (Miss Universe 2021) pageant to be held possibly later this year. The exact date and host country for the international competition are yet to be announced. Vietnam has yet to win the Miss Universe pageant but managed to successfully place in the final of the last three editions. Its highest achievement was in 2018 when H’Hen Nie entered the Top 5.
