Miss Universe Singapore 2022 is Carissa Yap


Carissa Yap bested nine other finalists to be crowned Miss Universe Singapore 2022 in a national competition held on Monday, October 17 at the Alcove at Caldwell House.

The 22-year-old business student at the National University of Singapore succeeds last year's winner and Miss Universe semi-finalist Nandita Banna. She will now prepare to represent Singapore at the 71st Miss Universe pageant in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA this January.

Yvonne Sashirekha, 27, and Denissia Li Xia Delangle, 21, were announced as the first and second runners-up, respectively, while Olivia Higgins, 27, and Sara Yong, 25, rounded out the Top 5.

The rest of the Top 10 finalists were Amira Yunos, Andrea Dias, Delvina Katerina Luther, Priyanka Annuncia, and Shien Tan.

Singapore fashion and couture designer Frederick Lee, COO of EQ World Pte Ltd and Miss Universe Singapore 1987 Marion Nicole Teo, actress and Miss Universe Singapore 2013 Shi Lim, fashion and commercial photographer Jeff Chang, and Paradox Singapore Merchant Court at Clarke Quay General Manager Jessie Khoo-Gan were this year's panel of judges.

The new Miss Universe Singapore walked away with prizes including a 4-night hotel stay at Paradox Singapore Merchant Court at Clarke Quay, a complete dental makeover from Orchard Scotts Dental, a diamond jewelry set from The Better Diamond, wardrobes and an all paid expenses trip to the US for Miss Universe.
