71st Miss World: Croatia's Lucija Begić wins Sport Challenge

The 71st Miss World Sport Challenge final was held on February 24 at the Mayor Dhyan Chand National Stadium in New Delhi. A total of 32 finalists among 112 contestants battled it out for the gold and for a spot among the Top 40 to be announced during the final show on Saturday, March 9 in Mumbai. They were divided into four team colors — Yellow Team (Africa), Blue Team (Europe), Red Team (Asia), and Green Team (America). The Sport Challenge culminated with Croatia's Lucija Begić emerging as winner while Chile's Ámbar Zenteno and Peru's Lucía Arellano were second and third, respectively. Miss Universe Croatia 2023 is Andrea Erjavec

Andrea Erjavec was crowned Miss Universe Croatia 2023 on Wednesday, May 3 at the Emerald Hall of the Esplanade Hotel in Zagreb. The 23-year-old advocate for the mental and physical health of children hails from Perušić and is a student at the University of Zagreb pursuing a degree in education. She believes that everyone should have access to education, information, and resources to be able to actively participate in social processes and create positive change in the world. Lucciana Ćebo was named first runner-up while Sara Garac, Mihaela Posavec, and Polina Mytko were announced as the second, third, and fourth runners-up, respectively. A total of 16 finalists from various fields and backgrounds have been chosen to take part in this year's competition. Paola Kliba from Pula was voted by her co-finalists to win the Miss Congeniality award. The 16 finalists vying for the national title of Miss Universe Croatia 2023 have been officially revealed on Wednesday, April 12 via social media of the competition. This year's final competition will take place on May 3 at the Emerald Hall of the Esplanade Hotel with live streaming on Jutarnji.hr for fans and followers at home. A series of pre-pageant events and activities including photoshoots, travel, rehearsals, and preparations were scheduled for the contestants prior to the grand coronation show in the country's capital city. The next Miss Universe Croatia will succeed last year's titleholder, Arijana Podgajski, and prepare to represent the Balkan nation at Miss Universe 2023 in El Salvador this December. Miss Universe Croatia 2022 is Arijana Podgajski

Arijana Podgajski was crowned Miss Universe Croatia 2022 in a glittering competition held at the Esplanade Hotel in Zagreb on Monday, May 23. The 19-year-old economics student and model from Krapina bested 12 other finalists to win her beauty title. She speaks English, likes to train at home, practice yoga, walk in nature, and read a good book. Klaudija Krezić from Sesvete and Veronika Đerek from Ivanić Grad were named the first and second runners-up, respectively, while Antonela Zvonković was awarded Miss Congeniality. The new Miss Universe Croatia succeeds Ora Antonia Ivanišević and will represent her country at Miss Universe 2022. Miss Universe Croatia 2021 is Ora Antonia Ivanišević

Ora Antonia Ivanišević bested 14 other contestants to be crowned Miss Universe Croatia 2021 on Wednesday, July 14 at Esplanade Zagreb Hotel. The 20-year-old tourism management student from Dubrovnik succeeds last year's winner Mirna Naiia Marić. She will represent Croatia at the 70th Miss Universe (Miss Universe 2021) pageant later this year. Lorena Mustać from Privlaka and Ozana Franović from Split were the first and second runners-up, respectively, while Matea Babić and Ivona Gradečak completed the Top 5. The new Miss Universe Croatia is a skilled make-up artist and hairstylist and speaks fluent English and Russian. Her hobbies include volunteering at the Down Syndrome Association's home.
