Miss Mayotte 2023 is Houdayifa Chibaco for Miss France 2024
Houdayifa Chibaco was proclaimed Miss Mayotte 2023 in a glittering competition held on Wednesday, August 30 at Ibis Styles Mayotte Aéroport in Pamandzi. The 21-year-old beauty from Mtsangamouji bested nine other contestants to win the title. She was crowned by the reigning Miss France from Guadeloupe, Indira Ampiot. Neidja Maliki, 24, from Tsingoni, was named first runner-up while Maïla Boina, 25, from Tsimkoura, finished as the second runner-up. This year's theme of the regional pageant translates as "Renaissance: Mahoraise fashion through time." The new Miss Mayotte succeeds the 2021 winner Anna Ousseni and will now represent the overseas French department and region in the Indian Ocean at Miss France 2024 on December 16 in Dijon. Houdayifa will mark Mayotte's return to the national stage since it withdrew from Miss France 2023 — its first absence since its debut in 2020.
