Miss Earth 2022 beauties went to Zamboanga City, swimsuit competition pushed through despite heavy rain

For the first time, all of the Miss Earth competitors were flown out to Zamboanga City, the "City of Flowers" in the Mindanao region of the Philippines as part of their eco-tours and the much-awaited swimsuit competition. Together with reigning Miss Earth Destiny Wagner and Miss Earth 2019 Nellys Pimentel, over 80 beauties visited the city’s historic, eco-tourism, and cultural sites, including the 115-year-old city hall and the Grande Santa Cruz Island, a small inhabited island in the southern region known for its pink coralline sand, where they planted mangroves. Supported by the city government headed by Mayor John Dalipe, the necessary preparation for the security and safety of the contestants was put in place. Miss Earth 2022: Australia, Colombia, Netherlands, and Nigeria win press presentation

Over 80 eco-warriors made it to the Miss Earth 2022 official press presentation on Monday, November 14 at the Cove Manila (Okada Manila) in Parañaque City. The contestants strutted their stuff down the runway wearing their official swimwear sponsored by Ricky Abad in front of the local and international media. Standouts were beauties from Australia, Belize, Colombia, Cuba, Nigeria, Peru, Philippines, Portugal, Russia, Thailand, USA, Venezuela, Vietnam, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. Four continental medalists were voted "Darling of the Press" and they are Australia's Sheridan Mortlock for Asia and Oceania, Colombia's Andrea Aguilera for the Americas, Netherlands' Merel Hendriksen for Europe, and Nigeria's Esther Ajayi for Africa. The event was hosted by former Miss Earth Karen Ibasco of the Philippines and reigning queen Destiny Wagner of Belize. It's departure time for the Miss Earth 2022 contestants as they head to Manila, Philippines to compete in the biggest international pageant dedicated to the protection and preservation of our planet Earth. Around 90 eco-warriors from all corners of the world are expected to arrive in the host country this weekend and kick off their official in-person events and activities. The reigning Miss Earth from Belize, Destiny Wagner, has for the first time since winning last year's virtual edition arrived at the Miss Earth headquarters on November 8. Unfortunately, she faced a bit of a health issue while in transit and needed to rest in order to bounce back better. After two virtual editions due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the physical part of this year's hybrid format of the Miss Earth pageant is about to begin in the Philippines. With this week's expected arrival of around 90 eco-warriors from around the world, Miss Earth 2022 will have the highest number of participants in the pageant's 22-year history. Miss Earth 2022 kicks off, contestants stun in their fauna costume

The hybrid edition of the Miss Earth pageant officially kicked off with the virtual preliminary events last Monday, October 24 starting off with the introduction of the delegates per continent and followed by their Fauna Outfit Competition. Over 80 earth advocates showcased their fauna-inspired outfits that represent their chosen animals from their respective countries. The public voting for this competition has been opened so the fans can help judge the winners which will be announced in the final. Stay tuned on the Miss Earth official social media accounts for the upcoming online events including the National Costume Competition, Intelligence, Beauty of Face, and Fitness and Form Preliminary Judging prior to their arrival in the host country on November 12. Paraguay's Macarena Tomas disqualified from Miss Earth 2022 due to age limit

Macarena Tomas has been preparing to represent Paraguay at Miss Earth 2022 this November in the Philippines but unfortunately was disqualified due to the age limit. The 29-year-old international aero yoga (aerial yoga) instructor who was named Miss Tierra Paraguay during the Reinas del Paraguay national competition in August, failed the Miss Earth organization's age limit requirement which is 18-28 years of age (until December 2022). There is no confirmation yet whether a new representative will be selected to be sent to this year's Miss Earth edition or too late for it, but as of this writing, Paraguay has been removed from the list of delegates on the pageant's official website. Karolína Michalčíková to represent Slovak Republic at Miss Earth 2022

Karolína Michalčíková has been revealed as the Slovak Republic's official representative to the Miss Earth 2022 pageant in the Philippines this November. The 23-year-old professional makeup artist from Trenčín was named Miss Universe Slovakia in a national competition held last month and is also expected to compete in the 71st Miss Universe pageant this January. This year also marks the return of Slovakia to the Miss Earth competition after two years of absence. The country first joined in 2005 and its highest placement so far was a Top 8 finish in 2014 with Dária Fabrici. It isn't the first time a Miss Universe Slovakia crossed over to Miss Earth. Back in 2006, Judita Hrubyová participated in Miss Universe and went on to place in the Top 16 at Miss Earth. The only exception this time is Karolina will go to Miss Earth prior to Miss Universe, and if she wins the Philippines-based pageant that would be another story. Miss Earth Colombia 2022 Andrea Aguilera Arroyave has been officially crowned on Friday, October 21 during the Women Economic Forum at Centro de eventos Valle del Pacifico in Cali. The social communicator and journalist, 25, was appointed last month as her country's representative in the upcoming Miss Earth 2022 pageant in the Philippines. Somalia to debut at Miss Earth pageant with Hibaq Ahmed

Somalia, a country in the Horn of Africa, is set to debut at the Miss Earth pageant with the newly appointed Miss Earth Somalia 2022 Hibaq Ahmed. The 26-year-old fashion model, support worker and English teacher will travel to Manila, the Philippines for the Miss Earth 2022 world final this November. Not new to pageantry, Hibaq was previously named Miss Elite World Somalia and went to participate at the Miss Elite World pageant several months ago in Soma Bay, Egypt. For her advocacy, Miss Earth Somalia wants to raise awareness for SDG 2 (Sustainable Development Goal - Zero hunger) in Somalia, and how climate disaster - drought - has become the country’s new normal since it has left nearly 50% of the people hungry. Miss Earth Laos 2022 is Tato Jitana Khidaphone

Appointed Miss Earth Laos 2022 Tato Jitana Khidaphone was officially crowned in a special ceremony held on Wednesday, October 12 at the Laotel Hotel & Resort in Vientiane. The 23-year-old model and environmental science graduate currently pursuing her master's degree at the National University of Laos will travel to the Philippines for Miss Earth 2022 final this November. Tato is the second woman to represent Laos in the environmental advocacy-driven international pageant which is based in the Philippines.
