Inishowen's Layla Doherty bested 20 other competitors from all over the country to win the Miss Earth Ireland 2023 pageant on Saturday, May 27 in Galway. The 21-year-old freelance model and Maple Store Ballyliffin employee will now prepare to represent Ireland at Miss Earth 2023 in Vietnam later this year. Her court of runners-up includes Abigail Walsh, Leah Sheehan, and Kevea Gallagher. They were awarded the titles Miss Earth Air, Miss Earth Water, and Miss Earth Fire Ireland 2023, respectively. Last year's winner who placed in the Top 20 at Miss Earth 2022 in the Philippines last November, Alannah Larkin, relinquished her crown at the end of the event. Alannah Larkin was crowned Miss Earth Ireland 2022 in a glittering competition held on Saturday, May 28 at Mount Falcon Estate in Ballina. The 18-year-old student from Eyrecourt in Galway bested over 20 other beauties to win her national beauty title. She will now prepare to represent Ireland at the international Miss Earth 2022 pageant later this year. "I had the most surreal night last night surrounded by the most amazing people. I am honored to be representing Ireland for Miss Earth 2022," she shared on social media after winning the competition.
