Former Miss Universe Curacao Kanisha Sluis has been officially announced by the Curacao Beauty Pageant Committee as Miss Grand Curacao 2022 on Wednesday, August 17. The 26-year-old speech therapy student will represent Curacao at Miss Grand International 2022 final this October 25 in Indonesia. Kanisha was crowned Miss Universe Curacao 2015 and went on to compete at the 64th Miss Universe pageant at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas, where she made it to the Top 10. "After 7 years I’m stepping back into the beauty pageant world as your Miss Grand international Curacao 2022," she wrote in a statement on social media. 70th Miss World Karolina Bielawska and Miss Grand International 2021 Nguyen Thuy Thuc Tien met for the first time in Vietnam. In a photo shared by Miss World, the reigning queens wearing beautiful Vietnamese creations were on board a luxury cruiser together with former Miss World Vietnam titleholders Tran Tieu Vy and Luong Thuy Linh. Karolina and Tien were both VIP guests and judges during the recently held Miss World Vietnam 2022 pageant at MerryLand Quy Nhon. Sabrina Deraneck was proclaimed Miss Grand Venezuela 2022 on Saturday, August 13 at Teatro Municipal de Caracas (Municipal Theater of Caracas). The 23-year-old teacher by profession from the state of Mérida will represent her country at Miss Grand International 2022 in Indonesia this October. Alia Abized, 19, of Nueva Esparta, and Valentina Martinez, 22, of Anzoátegui were named Miss Elite Venezuela and Miss Grand Venezuela 2023, respectively. They are expected to compete in next year's Miss Elite World and Miss Grand International editions. A total of 22 beauties participated during the first edition of Miss Grand Venezuela. Seira Inoue was crowned Miss Grand Japan 2022 during the national competition held on Saturday, August 6 at Yokosuka Arts Theater in Kanagawa Prefecture. The 26-year-old Japanese-Filipino beauty bested 24 other finalists to win the national title. She succeeds last year's winner Chika Mizuno and will represent Japan at Miss Grand International 2022 in Indonesia this October. Maria Nasu, Mizuki Takashima, Anna Yamanouchi, and Yukino Jahana were the first, second, third, and fourth runners-up, respectively. Vietnam has been announced to host the Miss Grand International 2023 competition. It will be the second time the country will host the pageant after 2017. The deal was sealed in an official press conference and contract signing between the Miss Grand International Organization and Senvang Entertainment at Saigon South Marina Club. Reigning Miss Grand International and Vietnam's very own Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien attended the ceremony together with MGI executives Nawat Itsaragrisil and Teresa Chaivisut.
