Miss Grand Curacao 2022 is Kanisha Sluis


Former Miss Universe Curacao Kanisha Sluis has been officially announced by the Curacao Beauty Pageant Committee as Miss Grand Curacao 2022 on Wednesday, August 17.

The 26-year-old speech therapy student will represent Curacao at Miss Grand International 2022 final this October 25 in Indonesia.

Kanisha was crowned Miss Universe Curacao 2015 and went on to compete at the 64th Miss Universe pageant at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas, where she made it to the Top 10.

"After 7 years I’m stepping back into the beauty pageant world as your Miss Grand international Curacao 2022," she wrote in a statement on social media.

"I humbly accept this responsibility and challenge to represent my beautiful island Curacao with pride and love," she added.

71st Miss Universe pageant will be held in 2023

The Miss Universe Organization confirmed in an email to the national directors that the next Miss Universe edition will be held in the first quarter of 2023. There was no official date and host country that were revealed in the communication but the organization will soon make an official announcement. The reigning queen, Harnaaz Sandhu of India, who was crowned Miss Universe 2021 last December 13 will have a longer reign than expected. Miss Universe 2019 Zozibini Tunzi of South Africa is currently the longest reigning Miss Universe in history due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Zozi reigned for one year and five months before she passed her crown on to Andrea Meza of Mexico during Miss Universe 2020 in Hollywood, Florida. Miss Mundo Uruguay 2022 Top 8 finalist Carla Romero has been officially revealed as Miss Universe Uruguay 2022. She succeeds Miss Universe Uruguay 2020, Lola de los Santos. The 24-year-old business administration graduate and an image consultant from Montevideo will represent her country at the 71st Miss Universe pageant in New Orleans, Louisiana this January. Miss Cabo Verde International 2022 is Stephany Amado

Cabo Verde or Cape Verde, an African archipelago and island country in the central Atlantic Ocean, will debut at the Miss International pageant later this year. The first edition of the Miss Cabo Verde International pageant themed "Modern Women, Culturally Enriched" took place on Saturday, September 3 at Largo Amílcar Cabral in Várzea, Praia. A total of 20 beauties took part in the glittering competition. Miss Kyrgyzstan 2021 Altynai Botoyarova has been officially announced on Wednesday, September 21 as Miss Universe Kyrgyzstan 2022. The 18-year-old model, who was named Miss Kyrgyzstan in September last year, will now prepare to represent her country at the 71st Miss Universe in New Orleans, Louisiana this January. She will be the second representative of her country at Miss Universe. Hagar Mohamed was crowned Miss Egypt 2022 in a glittering competition held on Sunday, August 28 at the Triumph Luxury Hotel in Cairo. The 26-year-old travel enthusiast bested over 20 other contestants to win her national title. She succeeds last year's winner Nadine El Gaiar. Virginia Stablum, representing Trentino Alto Adige, bested 19 other contestants to be crowned Miss Universe Italy 2022 on Sunday, September 18 at the Lo Smeraldo in Canosa di Puglia. The 24-year-old model and influencer is no stranger to the limelight, having joined the dating show "Uomini e Donne" in 2018. She will now prepare to represent Italy at the 71st Miss Universe pageant in January. Jennifer Barrantes, representing the region of Ucayali, was crowned Miss World Peru 2022 on Sunday, September 25 in Lima. The 23-year-old beauty is a commercial aviation graduate, a business owner, and an animal advocate. Apart from winning her title, she also bagged several awards including Best Smile, Miss Yolett, and Top Model. Gianella Paz Pacheco of Callao was named first runner-up while Lucia Arellano of Loreto and Fairus Ore of Lima Centro were announced the second and third runners-up, respectively.
