Miss Clemson, Kenlee McVay, was crowned Miss South Carolina Teen USA 2023 on Saturday, March 4 at the North Charleston Coliseum and Performing Arts Center in North Charleston, South Carolina. The 19-year-old Clemson University student and model bested over 30 other contestants to win the state title. She also participated last year and placed in the Top 10 while representing Upstate. Gracen Vaughn (Lake Hartwell) was named first runner-up while Payton Crook (Greer High School), Madelyn Martin (Grande Dunes), and Margaret Turner (Upstate) were second, third, and fourth runners-up, respectively. Completing the Top 10 were Elizabeth Yonce (Edgefield), Summer Stewart (Myrtle Beach), Gabrielle Grayson (North Myrtle Beach), Taven Nichols (Surfside Beach), and Jules Grass (Tigertown). Marley Stokes was crowned Miss South Carolina USA 2021 in a glittering competition held last Saturday, March 6 at the North Charleston Performing Arts Center. The 23-year-old former Miss South Carolina Teen USA from Lexington is a model, professional makeup artist, and a licensed phlebotomist. She placed second runner-up in Miss Teen USA 2016. Another winner at the venue is a 17-year-old native of Easley, Augusta Roach, who took home the title of Miss South Carolina Teen USA 2021. She is a senior in high school who plans to study mass communications at the University of South Carolina Honors College. Marley and Augusta will represent South Carolina at the 2021 Miss USA and Miss Teen USA pageants, respectively.
