Miss Universe Vietnam accepts first-ever transgender contestant

Another beauty was surprisingly added to the official Top 70 contestants of the Miss Universe Vietnam 2022 competition. The emotional announcement was made during the first episode of the reality TV show "I am Miss Universe Vietnam 2022" which aired on Saturday, April 16. Do Nhat Ha from Ho Chi Minh City made history as the first-ever transgender woman to be accepted as an official contestant after she received an honorary golden ticket from the organizing committee. No stranger to pageantry, Ha was Miss Tiffany Vietnam 2018 and a Top 6 finalist at Miss International Queen 2019, the biggest international beauty pageant for transgender women which is based in Thailand. The 71 official contestants will now continue to battle it out to secure a place in the Top 41. Miss Universe Vietnam 2022 Top 70 contestants announced, final to be held in June

The Top 70 official contestants who are vying for the title of Miss Universe Vietnam 2022 have been officially announced. Every Saturday starting April 16, the "I am Miss Universe Vietnam 2022" reality TV show will air on VTV9, local channels, and exclusively on the UNI NETWORK Youtube channel. The first episode "CATCH YOUR CHANCE" will start at 8:15 p.m. local time. Miss Universe Vietnam 2022 final competition will take place this June and the winner will represent Vietnam at the 71st Miss Universe edition (Miss Universe 2022) later this year. Former Miss Universe Natalie Glebova has arrived in Ho Chi Minch City to help mentor the contestants and be part of the judging panel who will have the important task of choosing the next deserving woman to wear the "Vinawoman" crown. 70th Miss Universe: MUBA Cosmetics photoshoot with Belgium, India, Philippines, Spain and Vietnam

Five contestants were chosen by the 70th Miss Universe makeup sponsor, MUBA Cosmetics, for a special photoshoot on Thursday, December 2. They are Belgium's Kedist Deltour, India's Harnaaz Sandhu, Philippines' Beatrice Lugigi Gomez, Spain's Sarah Loinaz, and Vietnam's Nguyen Huynh Kim Duyen. "MUBA photoshoot reflects on environmental sustainability and our impact on the world. The photo series spotlighting animal abstraction in danger of extinction, with cosmetic artistry inspired by the Pangolin, Red Panda, Angonoka Turtle, Military Macaw and Polar Bear," the makeup brand shared on its social media. "The MUBA cosmetics line is cruelty free and composed of all organic and natural materials. The models are styled in metallic vegan leather which compliments the MUBA eyeshadow pallet, Lucely." 70th Miss Universe: Contestants depart for Israel to conquer the Universe

In a few hours, over 70 beauties from across the world will arrive in Israel to compete for the coveted title of Miss Universe. Despite the current situation with the pandemic, the contestants are filled with excitement and positive energy to represent their countries on the prestigious global stage. Pre-arrival favorites are Paraguay, India, Venezuela, Puerto Rico, Thailand, Philippines, Colombia, South Africa, Argentina, France, Spain, Mexico, Vietnam, and Chile. The 70th Miss Universe (Miss Universe 2021) pageant will be held on Sunday, December 12 in the southern Israeli port and resort town, Eilat. It will air live on Fox, Telemundo, and different channels worldwide. American television presenter Steve Harvey will return as host and Israeli singer Noa Kirel will be the special guest performer. Nguyen Huynh Kim Duyen has finally been officially crowned as Miss Universe Vietnam 2021 during her send-off event held on Saturday, November 20 prior to her departure for the Miss Universe competition in Israel. The 26-year-old business administration graduate from Can Tho received her official crown and sash from her predecessor and Miss Universe Top 21 semi-finalist, Nguyen Tran Khanh Van. Kim Duyen was appointed as Miss Universe Vietnam 2021 last May. Miss Universe Vietnam 2021 is Nguyen Huynh Kim Duyen

Nguyen Huynh Kim Duyen has been officially announced by her national pageant organization on Tuesday, May 18 as the newly appointed Miss Universe Vietnam 2021. The 25-year-old business administration graduate from Can Tho was first runner-up to Nguyen Tran Khanh Van during Miss Universe Vietnam 2019 competition. Kim Duyen is expected to represent her country at the 70th Miss Universe (Miss Universe 2021) pageant to be held possibly later this year. The exact date and host country for the international competition are yet to be announced. Vietnam has yet to win the Miss Universe pageant but managed to successfully place in the final of the last three editions. Its highest achievement was in 2018 when H’Hen Nie entered the Top 5. Vietnam's Nguyen Tran Khanh Van departs for US to compete in the 69th Miss Universe

Nguyen Tran Khanh Van has departed Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City on Sunday, May 2 to compete in the upcoming 69th Miss Universe in the USA. The 25-year-old has been waiting for this moment since she was crowned Miss Universe Vietnam in December 2019. She has been training for over a year to win her country's first Miss Universe. Khanh Van is currently the ambassador of One Body Village - an organization that supports, rescues, and helps girls who are exploited, sexually abused, or in danger. She wants to use her voice to fight and protect children and women who are potential victims. Since its debut in 2004, Vietnam has placed three times at Miss Universe and its highest achievement was Top 5 in 2018 with H'Hen Niê.
