Miss Universe Canada 2023 final date and venue announced

The final date and venue for the 72nd annual Miss Universe Canada competition, Miss Universe Canada 2023, has been officially announced. Last year's winner and Miss Universe 2022 Top 16 semifinalist Amelia Tu from Vancouver will crown her successor on Saturday, August 19 and at the River Rock Casino and Resort Theatre in Richmond, British Columbia. According to the organizers, this is the reputable venue's first time hosting the national pageant. The presentation show will be held on Thursday, August 17 where over 50 contestants, yet to be revealed, will compete before a live audience and the judges in their swimsuits and evening gowns. Fifteen semifinalists from the judges and five from segment winners will make up the Top 20 who will compete in the traditional categories and question and answer portion of the final show. This year's Reinas del Paraguay competition is ready to crown the next set of women who will represent Paraguay at the Miss Universe, Miss World, Miss International, and Miss Earth pageants. Following a preliminary event held last May 23, the 10 contestants vying for Miss Costa Rica 2023 (Miss Universe Costa Rica 2023) have been officially announced. The judges consisting of former Miss France Véronique de la Cruz, marketing expert Diana Bonell, and singer Rodolfo González selected the finalists who were officially presented via the television program "7 Estrellas" on Thursday. Miss Universe Kosovo 2023 is Arbesa Rrahmani from Ferizaj

The Miss Universe Albania & Kosovo 2023 national final took place on Thursday, June 1 at the Pallati i Kongreseve (Palace of Congresses) in Tirana, Albania. Arbesa Rrahmani was crowned Miss Universe Kosova (Miss Universe Kosovo 2023) alongside Endi Demneri who was proclaimed Miss Universe Albania 2023. The 21-year-old model and actress from Ferizaj, Kosovo succeeds last year's titleholder Roksana Ibrahimi and will now represent her country at Miss Universe 2023. Kosovo, a landlocked country in Southeast Europe and in the center of the Balkans, first joined Miss Universe in 2008 with Zana Krasniqi. Its highest placement was second runner-up in 2009 courtesy of Marigona Dragusha. The pageant was held at Atlantis Paradise Island in Nassau, The Bahamas with 83 competitors. Endi Demneri was crowned Miss Universe Albania 2023 in a national competition held on Thursday, June 1 at Pallati i Kongreseve (Palace of Congresses) in Tirana. The 24-year-old model from Tirana succeeds Deta Kokomani and will now prepare to represent Albania at the 72nd Miss Universe (Miss Universe 2023) pageant in El Salvador later this year. "I want to dedicate this beautiful journey to my grandmother and grandfather, my two angels. I am convinced that if they were in the hall last night, the loudest ovations would come from them," she shared on social media after winning her national title. The beauty queen went to social media to announce her first "Mega" magazine cover since winning her national title and where she also came out as a proud bisexual. Zimbabwe will return to Miss Universe pageant after 22 years

After a 22-year absence, Zimbabwe, a landlocked country in southern Africa, is expected to return to the Miss Universe pageant in El Salvador later this year. Previously held by the first ever Miss Universe Zimbabwe, Yvette D'Almeida Chakras, the Miss Universe license is now in the hands of Tendai Hunda, a former Miss World Zimbabwe and Miss Intercontinental 2015 fourth runner-up. Joining her as chief of operations and managing director is Zimbabwean television personality and communications consultant, Rumbidzai Takawira. Zimbabwe last joined Miss Universe in the year 2001 with Tsungai Muswerakuenda. Its highest placement was achieved in 2000 when Corinne Crewe finished in the Top 10 from a field of 79 competitors in Nicosia, Cyprus.
