Miss USA 2022 R'Bonney Gabriel sat down with E! News to set the record straight on the viral "allegations and smear campaign" shared by Miss Montana USA Heather Lee O'Keefe on social media against the Miss USA Organization. The drama came after the Filipino-American beauty from Texas won the coveted title on Monday, October 3 at the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino in Reno, Nevada. Allegations include favoritism and unfair advantage from the organizers and sponsors. Some contestants also went online to share frustrations over their "unjustifiable losses, heartbreaks, and broken dreams" implying R'Bonney's victory was fixed. Macel Leilani Wilson became the first Asian American to be crowned Miss USA on Thursday night of July 12, 1962, in Miami, Florida, from a field of 40 contestants. The Hawaiian beauty, a 19-year-old receptionist, was born in Honolulu to a Portuguese mother and her father, a plumber, is of Hawaiian, Chinese, and English descent. She was also the first non-caucasian woman to win the national title. Diane Zabicki from Middletown, representing Connecticut, was named first runner-up while crowd favorite Tennessee's Gail White from Chattanooga finished as the second runner-up.  California's Marilyn Tindall from Hollywood and Nevada's Janet Hadland from Las Vegas rounded out the Top 5 finalists as they were announced third and fourth runners-up, respectively. Latvia returns to Miss Universe after 16 years

Latvia is set to return to the Miss Universe stage this January in New Orleans, Louisiana after missing the pageant for a decade and a half. The European country which is situated on the Baltic Sea between Lithuania and Estonia last joined the international pageant in 2006 after its debut in 2005 with the then 19-year-old Ieva Kokoreviča who managed to place in the Top 10. Inga Raduga Model Management now holds the license for Miss Universe Latvia and a national final is expected to take place soon. Miss Texas USA R’Bonney Gabriel was crowned Miss USA 2022 in a glittering final show that took place on Monday, October 3 the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, Nevada. The 28-year-old fashion designer and model who runs her own eco-friendly clothing line made history by becoming the first ever Filipino-American woman to win the Miss USA pageant. Morgan Romano of North Carolina finished as the first runner-up while Natalie Pieper of Nebraska, Sir'Quora Carroll of Ohio, and Angel Reyes of Illinois were the second, third, and fourth runners-up, respectively. Fifty-one contestants from across the country have worked diligently to get to the Miss USA final stage but only one of them will become the successor of Elle Smith of Kentucky and represent the USA at the 71st Miss Universe 2022 this January in New Orleans, Louisiana. An esteemed panel of judges determines who enters the Top 16. Fifteen will be selected based on their interviews, preliminary swimsuit and evening gown competition, and one spot is reserved for a contestant with the highest fan votes on missusa.com . Miss Universe Argentina 2022 is Bárbara Cabrera

Bárbara Cabrera has been officially announced on Sunday, October 2 as Miss Universe Argentina 2022. The 26-year-old textile entrepreneur and model from Buenos Aires will now prepare to represent Argentina at the 71st Miss Universe pageant in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA this January. No stranger to pageantry, Bárbara was named Miss Eco Argentina 2020 and went on to compete in Miss Eco International 2021 in Egypt where she placed in the Top 20 and bagged the Best in Evening Gown award. "My heart explodes with happiness to be able to officially tell you that I will proudly represent Argentina in Miss Universe 2022," she wrote in Spanish on social media. "Those who know me know that it was always my big dream. Today thanks to a lot of work and the team that accompanies me, I am fulfilling it," she added. Argentina has won Miss Universe once with Norma Beatriz Nolan in 1962. Its last placement was in 2020 with Alina Luz Akselrad who finished in the Top 21. Meet the new M
