Miss Universe 2022 R'Bonney Gabriel visits Guatemala with reigning Miss USA and Miss Teen USA

Reigning Miss Universe R'Bonney Gabriel touched down in Guatemala City this week with her queen sisters Miss USA 2022 Morgan Romano and Miss Teen USA 2022 Faron Medhi. The trio went to the Central American country for Smile Train, the world's largest cleft charity providing safe, high-quality cleft palate surgical care in over 70 countries. "Had the sweetest time dying shirts and spending time with children that have undergone cleft surgeries with @smiletrain," R'Bonney shared on social media. The beauty queen also reunited with her fellow competitor at Miss Universe 2022 in New Orleans, Miss Universe Guatemala 2022 Ivana Batchelor. Talking about their experience in the country, reigning Miss Teen USA shared, "I had such a beautiful first day in Guatemala with @smiletrain." "We were able to meet with such inspiring girls with incredible strength and stories. Thank you so much Smile Train for such an amazing and unique experience," she added.  

Miss Universe Indonesia unveils 'Shimmering Hope' crown

The Miss Universe Indonesia organization under Capella Swastika Karya and national director Poppy Capella officially unveiled the "Shimmering Hope" crown on Monday, May 29 in Jakarta. Crafted by Indonesian gold jewelry maker UBS Gold, the new masterpiece will be used for the coronation of whoever wins Miss Universe Indonesia 2023 on a date and venue yet to be announced. From the word shimmer, meaning to shine with a flickering or wavering light, and hope, a feeling of expectation and desire for a certain thing to happen, the crown according to the organization represents leadership characterized by radiance, brilliance, and hope. Those who wear it are called to embody those qualities and use their power to inspire hope and optimism in others and are committed to social justice, human rights, and the welfare of everyone in society. Miss Universe Curacao 2023 is Kim Rossen

Kim Rossen bested six other competitors to win Miss Universe Curacao 2023 on Saturday, May 27 at the World Trade Center (WTC) in Willemstad. The 25-year-old model, athlete, and occupational therapist living in Rotterdam, Netherlands will now prepare to represent Curacao at Miss Universe 2023 in El Salvador later this year. No stranger to pageantry, the University of Rotterdam graduate was first runner-up when she participated in Miss Curacao Holland 2023 last December. This year's Miss Universe Curacao final competition was hosted by Venezuelan television presenter Maite Delgado. Bianty Gomperts was named first runner-up while Kimberly Fernandes was announced as the second runner-up. The rest of the finalists were Kimberley Becker, Nethania Hill, Julia Schreiber, and Thianny Braafhart. The Top 30 contestants vying to become Miss South Africa 2023 have been officially revealed on Wednesday, May 24 exclusively on the Miss SA App. From 30, only the Top 12, to be announced this June, will have the chance to move on to the finals whose date and venue have yet to be announced. The last group of finalists vying for Miss Universe Australia 2023 were announced during the Miss West Coast state final held on Wednesday, May 24 at The Camfield in Perth. Representing Western Australia in September's national final are Vimbayi Hakutangwi, Somaya O'Donnell, Natasha Huisman, Brooklyn Metropolis, Mary Lopez, and Khloe Hicks. Following South Australia and Queensland, two more states selected their respective representatives for the Miss Universe Australia 2023 national final. The state final for New South Wales was held on Friday, May 19 at Café del Mar in Sydney. Four finalists have been announced from the premiere state — Vitoria Camporeale, Tash Knox, Sené Maluwapi, and Farida Rakhmanova. On Sunday, May 21, the Victoria state final was held at Sofitel Melbourne on Collins where a total of seven winners emerged. The national finalists from the garden state are Claire Rossier, Brooke Bailey, Alexandra Danielle Lim, Moraya Wilson, Maddison Cottle, Johara Pillay, and Lauren Walker. Miss Universe Peru 2023 is Camila Escribens

Camila Escribens (right) bested 24 other competitors to win Miss Peru 2023 (Miss Universe Peru 2023) during the live telecast of the reality TV show "Esto es Guerra" on Thursday, May 18 in Lima. The 24-year-old fashion model and former Miss Grand Peru clinched the title in her third attempt at the national pageant and will now represent her country at Miss Universe 2023 in El Salvador later this year. Rounding out the Top 5 finalists were Suheyn Cipriani, Nathaly Terrones, Gianella Rázuri, and Alexandra Balarezo. They were announced as the first, second, third, and fourth runners-up, respectively. The new Miss Peru was crowned by her predecessor Alessia Rovegno, the winner from last year who placed in the Top 16 at the 71st Miss Universe in New Orleans.
