Miss Universe Indonesia unveils 'Shimmering Hope' crown


The Miss Universe Indonesia organization under Capella Swastika Karya and national director Poppy Capella officially unveiled the "Shimmering Hope" crown on Monday, May 29 in Jakarta.

Crafted by Indonesian gold jewelry maker UBS Gold, the new masterpiece will be used for the coronation of whoever wins Miss Universe Indonesia 2023 on a date and venue yet to be announced.

From the word shimmer, meaning to shine with a flickering or wavering light, and hope, a feeling of expectation and desire for a certain thing to happen, the crown according to the organization represents leadership characterized by radiance, brilliance, and hope.

Those who wear it are called to embody those qualities and use their power to inspire hope and optimism in others and are committed to social justice, human rights, and the welfare of everyone in society.

Asia Rose Simpson from Quezon City was crowned Miss World Philippines 2026 during the national final of the pageant held on Tuesday, February 3 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City. The 18-year-old Filipino-American beauty also bagged the Best in Swimsuit, Best in Talent, and Beauty with a Purpose award. She succeeded Miss World 2025 Top 8 finalist and Miss World Asia Krishnah Gravidez from Baguio City. Soraya Kohlmann was crowned Miss Universe Germany 2022 in a casting event held on Saturday, July 2 at Holiday Inn Hotel Düsseldorf-Neuss. The 24-year-old former Miss Germany (2017) and business owner who hails from Leipzig succeeds last year's titleholder Hannah Seifer. She will now prepare to represent her country at Miss Universe 2022. Mona Schafnitzl and Roxanna Saiedeh were the rest of the Top 3 finalists while Jelena Tontic and Maren Tschinkel completed the Top 5. Varvara Yakovenko beat over 50 other contestants to win Miss Intercontinental 2025 on Thursday, January 29 at V Hotel Sahl Hasheesh in Egypt. The 18-year-old model became the fourth woman from Russia to hold the international beauty title. She succeeds last year's winner María Cepero from Puerto Rico. Lee Seung-hyun, a 23-year-old economics student at Korea University was crowned Miss Korea 2022 in a glittering final held on Wednesday, October 26 at the Blue Square in Yongsan-gu, Seoul. Yoo Si-eun, 25, a student of aviation services, and Kim Go-eun, 22, a student of aviation and aeronautical engineering, were in second and third places, respectively. Out of 54 regional winners, only 30 finalists were selected to take part in the 66th edition of the national pageant.
