Miss Universe Indonesia unveils 'Shimmering Hope' crown


The Miss Universe Indonesia organization under Capella Swastika Karya and national director Poppy Capella officially unveiled the "Shimmering Hope" crown on Monday, May 29 in Jakarta.

Crafted by Indonesian gold jewelry maker UBS Gold, the new masterpiece will be used for the coronation of whoever wins Miss Universe Indonesia 2023 on a date and venue yet to be announced.

From the word shimmer, meaning to shine with a flickering or wavering light, and hope, a feeling of expectation and desire for a certain thing to happen, the crown according to the organization represents leadership characterized by radiance, brilliance, and hope.

Those who wear it are called to embody those qualities and use their power to inspire hope and optimism in others and are committed to social justice, human rights, and the welfare of everyone in society.

Former Miss Earth Paraguay Gretha Matiauda has recently been appointed as her country's official representative in the Miss Universe 2026 pageant. The 24-year-old beauty from Asunci贸n is an economist, international model and entrepreneur. She succeeds last year's titleholder Yanina G贸mez who made the Top 30 at Miss Universe 2025.
