Mrs. American Organization President Elaine Marmel confirmed the resignation of Trenette Norris as Mrs. American 2022 in an official press release on Wednesday, October 5. The New Jersey resident, who won the title on August 19 at the Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino in Nevada, has now been replaced by first runner-up Krisdee Clark of South Carolina. According to a person familiar with the situation, Trenette was forced to resign after it was discovered she was not married and had forged documentation of her marriage. Investigation proved she was previously married in 2017 and divorced in 2018. However, she was never legally remarried, the source said.
