Miss Distrito Federal, Caroline Teixeira, was crowned Miss Brasil Mundo 2021 (Miss World Brazil) in a national competition held in Brasilia on Thursday, August 19. The 23-year-old beauty, who holds a degree in law, succeeds Miss Mundo Brasil 2019 Elís Miele. She will represent her country at the 70th Miss World (Miss World 2021) pageant to be held in San Juan, Puerto Rico this December. Louise-Marie Losfeld (Belgium), Alice Li (China), Darelys Santos (Panama), Karla Guilfú Acevedo (Puerto Rico), and Amelia Michael Sky (South Sudan) were named the Top Models of their respective regions. Shivali Patel (USA), Linda Sibrián (El Salvador), Queenie Benjarat (Thailand), and Jenelle Thongs (Trinidad and Tobago) completed the Top 5 finalists. Miss Supranational Belgium 2021 Louise-Marie Losfeld was awarded Miss Photogenic during the Miss Supranational 2021 preliminary competition held at Hotel Beskid in Nowy Sącz on Tuesday, August 17. Miss Universe Malaysia Organization (MUMO) released an official statement on Tuesday, August 17 in regard to Malaysia's non-participation at the 70th Miss Universe pageant in Eilat, Israel this December. "Unfortunately, due to the worsening COVID-19 situation, which has resulted in limited international and domestic travel, we have been unable to hold our local Miss Universe Malaysia 2021 pageant," the MUMO said. "We have therefore declined the invitation to this year's pageant and regretfully would not be able to hold a local Miss Universe Malaysia pageant this year." Nora Emilie Nakken bested 12 other contestants to be crowned Miss Universe Norway 2021 in a national competition held in Oslo on Saturday, August 14. The 23-year-old model and mental health advocate from Trondheim succeeds Sunniva Frigstad. She will represent Norway at the Miss Universe 2021 pageant in Eilat, Israel this December. Angelika Catharina D. Kristiansen and Amine Storrød were the first and second runners-up, respectively, while Julie Dahlen Børresen and Stephany Gabriela Crespo La Rosa completed the Top 5. Miss Antioquia, Andrea Aguilera, was crowned Miss Mundo Colombia 2021 in a national competition held at Hall 74 on Saturday, August 14 in Bogota. The 23-year-old social communicator and early childhood care technician holds a diploma in neuro-linguistic programming. Her Beauty with a Purpose project “Nutrir Neuronas” tackles child malnutrition and she works with “Othello Nutrition” to give specialized nutritional food to hundreds of children with chronic malnutrition. The Mister Supranational 2021 sashing ceremony took place on Sunday, August 15 at the Hotel Beskid in Nowy Sącz, Małopolska, Poland. Thirty-four contestants from around the world received their country sashes with the presence of the reigning Miss Supranational Anntonia Porsild of Thailand. The Top Model and Talent Final will take place this Tuesday, August 17 at 9 p.m. CET (Poland time) with live streaming on Mister Supranational Official YouTube channel. They are Alice Li (China), Sophie Marie Dunning (England), Denisse Nicolle Ligpitan (Germany), Dísa Dungal (Iceland), Jessica Marie Hopper (Ireland), Phidelia Mutunga (Kenya), Solange Hermoza (Peru), Dindi Pajares (Philippines), Jenelle Thongs (Trinidad and Tobago), and Valentina Sánchez (Venezuela).
