Lucy Sophia Thomson bested 10 other finalists to be crowned Miss Scotland 2022 on Friday, July 29 at the Grand Central Hotel in Glasgow. The 23-year-old beauty representing Fife from Dunfermline succeeds last year's winner Claudia Todd and will represent Scotland at the 71st Miss World pageant. Olivia McPike from Kirkintilloch and Ailsa Black from Edinburgh were the first and second runners-up, respectively. The new Miss Scotland took to social media to thank her friends, family, and supporters who inspired and helped her succeed in her journey to the national crown. "My smile says it all. The 23-year-old beauty succeeds last year's winner Anchilee Scott-Kemmis and will represent Thailand at the 71st Miss Universe (Miss Universe 2022) pageant. Angélique François is the newly appointed Miss International Haiti 2022 and will represent her country at the 60th Miss International (Miss International 2022) in Japan later this year. The Haitian-American professional model and medical assistant, 25, holds a degree in health science from Florida Atlantic University. Rebeca Rodriguez Mora was named Miss Universe Honduras 2022 in a national competition held on June 30 at Plaza de las Banderas in San Pedro Sula. The 20-year-old model, who was born and raised in San Pedro Sula, is a digital marketing student. She lives in Miami, USA for her studies. "I assume with great pride, humility, and with the same commitment that characterizes me the responsibility of representing with dignity the Miss Universe Honduras organization and my beloved country, HONDURAS," she wrote in a post on social media.  "I want to thank everyone who trusted me and supported me unconditionally from day one," she added. Miss Supranational 2022 from South Africa, Lalela Mswane, has returned to her home country two weeks after winning her international title in Poland. The 25-year-old arrived at OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg on Friday, July 29. She was warmly welcomed by her friends, family, acting CEO of Brand South Africa Sithembile Ntombela, and the Miss South Africa organizers. At a press conference, Lalela reiterated that her win was not only for herself but for South Africa as a whole. She reaffirmed her commitment to working harder than ever on her projects, which will be focusing on issues surrounding unemployment. Miss Alto Cafezal, Isabella Menin, was crowned Miss Grand Brasil 2022 (Miss Grand Brazil 2022) on Thursday, July 28 at Teatro da Caesb in Águas Claras, Brasília.
