The inaugural edition of the Miss Supermodel Philippines competition was held on Monday, March 6 at the Manila Hotel in Ermita, Manila. Shyrla Santos Nuñez of Caloocan City edged out 14 other contestants to win the title of Miss Supermodel Philippines 2023. The 25-year-old dentist succeeded last year's titleholder and reigning Miss Supermodel Worldwide 2022 Alexandra Rosales. Aileen Joyce Santiago of Cabanatuan was named first runner-up while Querubin Gonzalez of Marinduque, Imogene Belles of Manila, and Floriane Lajara of San Pablo, Laguna were announced the second, third, and fourth runners-up, respectively. Margaret Gray has just been officially announced as Miss Supranational Costa Rica 2023 and will now prepare for Miss Supranational 2023 pageant in Poland. The 21-year-old jazz dancer and medical student succeeded last year's titleholder, Miss Supranational Costa Rica 2022 Natalia González. No stranger to pageantry, Margaret was previously named Miss Costa Rica Beauty Worldwide and went on to win the international Miss Beauty Worldwide 2021 title in Tacna, Peru. She is bilingual and holds a qualification for teaching jazz dance. Her hobbies include reading, volunteering, and outdoor walks. Costa Rica has yet to win Miss Supranational. Its highest placement was in 2017 courtesy of Nicole Menayo who finished as one of the Top 10 finalists. For the first time in history, the next Miss Ukraine who will represent her country at Miss World 2023 will be chosen only through online voting. The announcement was made in Kyiv by the chairperson of the Miss Ukraine Committee, Veronika Shchiptsova, who also mentioned the importance of running the competition despite the military aggression in the country. According to Veronika, it will be an opportunity for the next Ukrainian representative on the prestigious global stage to draw attention to the ongoing conflict. Kira Geiss was proclaimed Miss Germany 2023 in a glittering grand final held on Saturday, March 4 at the Europa-Park Arena in Rust, Germany. The 20-year-old theology student, visual merchandiser, and aspiring religious and community educator from Magdeburg bested nine other finalists to win the national title.
