Miss South Carolina USA 2023 is Kirby Elizabeth Self


Kirby Elizabeth Self, representing Upstate, was crowned Miss South Carolina USA 2023 on Saturday, March 4 at the North Charleston Coliseum and Performing Arts Center in North Charleston.

The 23-year-old beauty from Greenwood, South Carolina, is a former track athlete champion and a graduate of Clemson University with a degree in political science and women's leadership.

She bested over 20 other competitors to win the state title and will now prepare to represent South Carolina at the Miss USA 2023 pageant in Reno, Nevada later this year.

Riley Copans (Isle of Palms), Hunter Dest (Sea Islands), Brooklyn Brewster (Clemson), and Maritsa Platis (Golden Corner) were named the first, second, third, and fourth runners-up, respectively.

Rounding out the Top 10 were Analise Healy (Daniel Island), Wadeline Jonathas (Greater Columbia), Kenzie McCracken (Hilton Head Island), Clarissa Salas (Lexington County), and Mattie Sloan (Mountain Lakes).

Molly Moore (Charleston County), Madeline Stewart (Columbia), Dru Guy (Greenville), Abigayle Stokes (Marion), Mia Horvit (Mount Pleasant), and Oshia Smalls (Orangeburg County) were the rest of the Top 16 semifinalists.

Last year's winner who went to compete in Miss USA 2022, Meera Bhonslé, relinquished her reign at the end of the glittering event.

The new Miss South Carolina USA is no stranger to pageantry. She was named Miss South Carolina Teen USA 2018 and went on to Miss Teen USA where she finished as first runner-up to Hailey Colborn of Kansas.

Miss Universe 2025, the 74th Miss Universe competition is set to take place on Friday, November 21 at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand. Reigning Miss Universe Victoria Kjær Theilvig from Denmark will hand over her crown to her successor at the conclusion of the event. This year's much-talked-about edition marked Thailand's fourth time hosting the prestigious beauty pageant after 1992, 2005, and 2018. Fatima Bosch was crowned Miss Universe Mexico 2025 on Saturday, September 13 at Sala Placido Domingo (Conjunto Santander de Artes Escénicas) in Zapopan, Jalisco. The 24-year-old designer from Teapa, Tabasco triumphed over 30 other contestants to win the coveted national title. She will represent Mexico at Miss Universe 2025 in Thailand this November. Aldana Masset was crowned Miss Universe Argentina 2025 on Sunday, May 25 at Mansión Tango in Buenos Aires. The 25-year-old singer and image consultant from the province of Entre Rios beat 27 other contestants to win the national title. Polish-American Emily Reng to represent Poland at Miss Universe 2025

Polish-American Emily Reng was officially announced by the Miss Polonia organization as Miss Universe Poland 2025 on Wednesday, October 22. The 20-year-old will now prepare to represent Poland at the Miss Universe 2025 pageant in Thailand this coming November. Emily is a graduate of John Hersey High School in Arlington Heights, Illinois and is currently a student at the University of South Carolina. The new Miss Universe Poland is no stranger to pageantry. Miss Universe Portugal 2025 is Camila Vitorino

Former Miss Queen of Portugal Camila Vitorino was crowned Miss Universe Portugal 2025 last Saturday, June 14 in the beautiful and historic city of Elvas. The 26-year-old from São Sebastião, Setúbal made history as the first married woman and mother to become Miss Universe Portugal. Laura Malaquias, Diliana Fernandes, and Ivone Carneiro were announced as the first, second, and third runners-up, respectively. Last year's winner Andreia Correia passed on her crown to her successor at the end of the event. The 28-year-old model and influencer will now prepare to represent Chile at the Miss Universe 2025 pageant in Thailand this November. Michaela Tomanová was crowned Miss Universe Czech Republic 2025 (Miss Universe Czechia) on Wednesday, June 25 at Chateau de Frontiere in Hlohovec. The 27-year-old mother, model and scientist from Prague will represent the Czech Republic at the Miss Universe 2025 pageant in Thailand this November.
