Malaysia's Manvin Khera wins The Miss Globe 2023

Manvin Khera of Malaysia beat 50 other competitors to be crowned The Miss Globe 2023 on Friday, November 17 at the Sports Palace in Durrës, Albania. The 22-year-old model and aspiring lawyer from Kuala Lumpur succeeds last year's winner from the Dominican Republic, Anabel Payano. Besides winning the coveted crown, Manvin was also awarded Miss Talent. She made history as the first-ever Malaysian representative to bag the international title. Katia Agbodo Rodriguez of Spain was named first runner-up while the beauties from the Philippines, Anna Valencia Lakrini, Nigeria, Duru Esther Chidera, and the USA, Kirstin Yvonne Bangs were the second, third, and fourth runners-up, respectively. Miss International Queen USA 2024 is Kataluna Enriquez

Kataluna Enriquez was officially crowned as Miss International Queen USA 2024 in a special coronation event held last Saturday, November 11 in Las Vegas. The 29-year-old Filipino-American model and fashion designer will now prepare to represent the USA at the Miss International Queen 2024 in Pattaya, Thailand next August. Her predecessor, Melony Munro, placed second runner-up at Miss International Queen 2023 which was held last June. The title went to Solange Dekker of the Netherlands. No stranger to pageantry, Kataluna became the first openly transgender woman to compete in the Miss USA pageant after winning Miss Nevada USA 2021. "It is a great honor to have this title and to represent our country," the new Miss International Queen USA shared on social media in her first week as titleholder. The 72nd Miss Universe (Miss Universe 2023) national costume show took place on Thursday, November 16 at the José Adolfo Pineda Arena in San Salvador, El Salvador. Hosted by Nick Teplitz and R'Bonney Gabriel, the show featured 84 incredible women from the world showcasing their beautiful costumes during the spectacular celebration of diversity, culture, tradition, and creativity. The live stream was moved to the platform due to technical issues with Live Bash during the preliminary competition. After 23 years, Paula Shugart officially announced her resignation as the president of the Miss Universe Organization (MUO) during the Miss Universe 2023 national costume show on Thursday, November 16 in El Salvador. "I've decided that this Saturday will be my last show, and to be clear this decision has been months in the making and is not in response to recent events," she said during her speech. She continued: "I have always passionately believed Miss Universe is not about any one woman, it's about community, our community. The 72nd Miss Universe preliminary competition took place last night at the Gimnasio Nacional José Adolfo Pineda in San Salvador, El Salvador. More than 80 contestants from around the world dazzled in their Clarisse Designs opening dresses, swimsuits by Rubin Singer, footwear by Jojo Bragais, and their choice of evening gowns. Hosted by reigning Miss Universe R'Bonney Gabriel and former Miss Universe El Salvador Vanessa Velásquez, last night's spectacular show is considered the most inclusive in the 72-year history of Miss Universe. There were two mothers (Colombia and Guatemala), two transgender women (Netherlands and Portugal), and one plus-sized (Nepal). The live streaming of the Miss Universe 2023 preliminary competition has been moved to YouTube, due to a technical issue with its live stream platform partner Live Bash. According to the Miss Universe Organization (MUO), "The viewership and ticket purchasing from our fanbase overwhelmed the Live Bash host site, so in order to avoid any delays we are pushing to YouTube." The organization also announced that those who have already purchased their virtual tickets will be refunded by Live Bash. Refunds will be processed within approximately 5-10 business days. More than 80 contestants will walk the stage for the first time in their evening gowns and swimsuits to impress the distinguished selection committee. Their preliminary performances tonight will help determine the semifinalists to be announced during the final show this Saturday, November 18.
