Five more beauties have secured their spot as national finalists for Miss Universe Australia 2024 following the state final in Queensland. The Queensland state selection event happened on Sunday, April 7 at the Transcontinental Hotel in Brisbane, Australia. Moving on to the national competition this August representing Queensland are Bronte Rose Dagg, Zoe Creed, Jiselle Manning, Tatum Ellis Oksanen, and Tahlia Jones. Valeria Pérez was crowned Miss Mundo Puerto Rico 2024 (Miss World Puerto Rico 2024) on Saturday, April 6 at Centro de Bellas Artes de Humacao. The 22-year-old biology graduate hailing from Manatí bested 29 other contestants to win the national title. She succeeds  Miss World Puerto Rico 2022 who placed in the Top 40 at the 71st Miss World , Elena Rivera. María Cepero of Aibonito and Mara Meléndez of Isabela were the first and second runners-up, respectively, while Giselle Jiménez Osorio of Bayamón and Ninoshka Figueroa of Ciales rounded out the Top 5 finalists. Miss Monroe County, Kaylee Brooke McCollum, was crowned Miss Mississippi USA 2024 during the state competition held on Saturday, April 6 at Pearl River Resort in Choctaw. The 22-year-old registered nurse succeeds last year's winner Sydney Russell and will now prepare to represent Mississippi at Miss USA 2024 in California this August. No stranger to pageantry, Kaylee is a former Miss Mississippi Teen USA who placed third runner-up at Miss Teen USA 2019 in Reno, Nevada. Mister Rio Grande do Sul, Matheus Maia, edged out 23 other contestants to win Mister Brasil CNB 2024 (Mister Supranational Brasil 2024) on Saturday, April 6 in Tramandai, Rio Grande do Sul. The 26-year-old personal trainer and model succeeds last year's winner and Mister Supranational 2023 first runner-up, Henrique Martins. Leah Khumo Barobetse was crowned Miss Supranational Botswana 2024 on Saturday, April 6 at BNYC, Fairgrounds in Gaborone. The 25-year-old model and licensed aesthetic laser therapist will represent Botswana at Miss Supranational 2024 in Poland this July. Kefilwe Gabonakemo was named first runner-up while Seabe Sefakonyana finished as second runner-up. Malin Chara-anan, representing Phuket, was crowned Miss Grand Thailand 2024 in a glittering event held on Saturday, April 6 at MGI Hall in Bangkok. The 27-year-old beauty triumphed over 70 other contestants to win the national title. She will represent Thailand at Miss Grand International 2024 in Myanmar this October. Kanyaphatsaphon Rungrueang of Pathum Thani was named first runner-up while Kittiyaporn Fungmee of Chumphon, Thansita Dilhokananskul of Lampang, and Aoratai Phangchan of Maha Sarakham were the second, third, and fourth runners-up, respectively.
