69th Miss Universe preliminary competition standouts

The 69th Miss Universe delegates paraded in their swimsuits and evening gowns during the preliminary competition held on Friday, May 14 in Hollywood, Florida.

Their combined scores from the prelims and the crucial closed-door interview round will help determine who will make it to the Top 21 this Sunday.

Standouts from the preliminary swimsuit and evening gown include Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Finland, Haiti, India, Indonesia, Jamaica, Laos, Mexico, Myanmar, Nepal, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Puerto Rico, Romania, Russia, South Africa, Thailand, Venezuela, and Vietnam.

The 69th Miss Universe final competition will air live from the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on Sunday, May 16 at 8 p.m. ET.

Voting is still open at missuniverse.com/vote to help your favorite delegate make it into the Top 21.

The coronation ball for The Miss Philippines 2026 took place on Sunday, May 10, at the Grand Ballroom in City of Dreams Manila. Miss Universe Peru 2026 is Luren Márquez

Luren Márquez was crowned Miss Peru 2026 (Miss Universe Peru) in a special ceremony held on Wednesday, April 15 at the Teatro Municipal del Callao. The 27-year-old television presenter and model received the crown from her predecessor Karla Bacigalupo with the presence of the reigning Miss Universe Fátima Bosch from Mexico. Born in Ica, the new Miss Universe Peru is a business administration graduate from the University of Lima. She also obtained her degree in communication from the Florida Internationl University in the USA. No stranger to pageantry, Luren placed first runner-up at the Miss Peru 2024 pageant. Russia's Varvara Yakovenko wins Miss Intercontinental 2025

Varvara Yakovenko beat over 50 other contestants to win Miss Intercontinental 2025 on Thursday, January 29 at V Hotel Sahl Hasheesh in Egypt. The 18-year-old model became the fourth woman from Russia to hold the international beauty title. She succeeds last year's winner María Cepero from Puerto Rico. Lorena Suárez Lara from Cuba was named first runner-up while Vanessa Natcha Wenk of Thailand and Faidha Kassim Kivuyo of Tanzania were the second and third runners-up, respectively. Patthama Jitsawat, representing the Thai province of Chonburi, was crowned Miss Grand Thailand 2026 on Saturday, March 28 at MGI Hall in Bangkok. The 32-year-old beauty edged out 76 other contestants to win the national competition. She succeeds last year's winner Sarunrat Puagpipat of Phuket.
