Miss Lesotho 2021 Tiisetso Seliane to compete at the 70th Miss World final in Puerto Rico

Tiisetso Seliane bested 10 other finalists to be crowned Miss Lesotho 2021 at the Manthabiseng Convention Centre in Maseru last May 29.

The 24-year-old aspiring teacher from Hlotse is currently an education student at the National University of Lesotho (NUL).

Poelano Mothisi was named the first princess while Rapelang Ntsane became the second princess.

The new Miss Lesotho will represent her southern African country at the 70th Miss World (Miss World 2021) pageant later this year in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

"I have always known that life will lead me to a career that will put me in front of people. I enjoy the freedom to be myself, loving, caring, crazy and loud," she said.

The annual Miss Lesotho pageant was launched in 1978. Last year, the competition was suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Varvara Yakovenko beat over 50 other contestants to win Miss Intercontinental 2025 on Thursday, January 29 at V Hotel Sahl Hasheesh in Egypt. The 18-year-old model became the fourth woman from Russia to hold the international beauty title. She succeeds last year's winner María Cepero from Puerto Rico. Lorena Suárez Lara from Cuba was named first runner-up while Vanessa Natcha Wenk of Thailand and Faidha Kassim Kivuyo of Tanzania were the second and third runners-up, respectively. Fatima Bosch was crowned Miss Universe Mexico 2025 on Saturday, September 13 at Sala Placido Domingo (Conjunto Santander de Artes Escénicas) in Zapopan, Jalisco. Pastry chef and model Swann Lavigne from France was proclaimed Mister Supranational 2025 on Saturday, June 28 at the Strzelecki Park Amphitheater in Nowy Sącz, Poland. New show format for Miss Universe 2024, important details announced

The Miss Universe Organization (MUO) held a press conference on September 4 in Mexico to announce important details of the upcoming 73rd Miss Universe pageant. This year's historic edition, to be held at Arena CDMX in Mexico City on November 16, will introduce a new show format. From around 130 contestants, only 30 will be announced as semifinalists, followed by the Top 12, Top 5, and the winner. The Top 30 will include four continental queens and one fan vote winner. The contestants are expected to arrive in Mexico during the last week of October and will be staying at their luxurious official residence, the Presidente InterContinental.
