71st Miss Universe pageant will be held in 2023


The Miss Universe Organization confirmed in an email to the national directors that the next Miss Universe edition will be held in the first quarter of 2023.

There was no official date and host country that were revealed in the communication but the organization will soon make an official announcement.

The reigning queen, Harnaaz Sandhu of India, who was crowned Miss Universe 2021 last December 13 will have a longer reign than expected.

Miss Universe 2019 Zozibini Tunzi of South Africa is currently the longest reigning Miss Universe in history due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Zozi reigned for one year and five months before she passed her crown on to Andrea Meza of Mexico during Miss Universe 2020 in Hollywood, Florida.

There are so far almost 60 contestants have been selected to participate in the 71st Miss Universe pageant.

Laura Gnjatović beat 13 other contestants to win Miss Universe Croatia 2025 on Monday, April 28 at Esplanade Hotel in Zagreb. The 23-year-old nursing student from Zadar was crowned by her predecessor, last year's winner Zrinka Ćorić. She will now prepare to represent Croatia at Miss Universe 2025 in Thailand this November. Miss Universe Philippines 2025 is Maria Ahtisa Manalo of Quezon Province

Maria Ahtisa Manalo of Quezon Province was crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2025 on Friday, May 2 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City. The 27-year-old from  Candelaria bested 65 other contestants to win the national title. She will represent the Philippines at Miss Universe 2025 in Thailand this November. No stranger to pageantry, Ahtisa is a former  Binibining Pilipinas International titleholder who went on to place first runner-up at the Miss International 2018 competition in Japan. She eventually joined Miss Universe Philippines 2024 and finished second runner-up. The national organization then awarded her the title of Miss Cosmo Philippines. Kunda Mwamulima was crowned Miss Universe Zambia 2025 on Saturday, April 20 at the Mulungushi International Conference Centre (MICC) in Lusaka. The 29-year-old registered nurse and model will now prepare to represent Zambia at the Miss Universe 2025 pageant in Thailand this November. Opal Suchata Chuangsri was officially proclaimed Miss World Thailand 2025 in a special press presentation held on Tuesday, April 22 in Bangkok. The 22-year-old political science major at Thammasat University will represent Thailand at Miss World 2025 in Hyderabad ( Telangana), India this May. Mirna Alejandra Caballini Bouche has been revealed by the Señorita Panama organization as official representative of Panama for Miss Universe 2025. The 22-year-old professional model, singer, theater actress and fashion designer will head to Thailand to compete in the 74th Miss Universe pageant this November. No stranger to pageantry, Mirna previously represented Chiriquí at the Miss Universe Panama 2024 competition and finished as the second runner-up. The new Miss Universe Panama speaks Spanish, English and currently studies Italian. She is the CEO of MCaballini Productions, a company dedicated to the production of children's works. Universal Woman Brazil 2025 is Roci Pankov from Amazonas

Roci Pankov from Amazonas was crowned Universal Woman Brazil 2025 on Thursday, May 1 at Studio Stage in São Paulo. The married 36-year-old psychologist, entrepreneur and activist succeeds Carina Manzi and will represent Brazil at Universal Woman 2025 in Jaipur, India this June. Amanda Caldeira of Minas Gerais and Izadora Alves of Goiás were the first and second runners-up, respectively.
