71st Miss Universe will be hosted in New Orleans on January 14


Miss Universe Organization has just announced on social media that the 71st Miss Universe pageant will be held in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA on January 14, 2023.

The highly anticipated announcement read: "The moment you’ve been waiting for… The #71stMISSUNIVERSE Competition is heading to… NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA!"

This is the first time for Miss Universe to be hosted in Louisiana, a state in the Deep South and South Central regions of the United States. Further details on the upcoming competition were announced on the official Miss Universe mobile app.

Situated in the "Pelican State," the city of New Orleans is world-renowned for its distinctive music, Creole cuisine, unique dialects, and its annual celebrations and festivals, most notably Mardi Gras.

The historic heart of the city is the French Quarter, known for its French and Spanish Creole architecture and vibrant nightlife along Bourbon Street.

Around 70 "beautifully confident" women have already been selected to represent their respective countries in the world's most prestigious beauty competition. The event is expected to feature almost 90 contestants from around the globe.

Harnaaz Sandhu of India, the reigning Miss Universe, will crown her successor during the final show at the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in Downtown New Orleans.

According to the MUO President Paula Shugart: "There is no place like New Orleans. This vibrant city has been at the top of our list to host for quite some time due to its rich cultural history, as well as its unique arts, entertainment, and culinary scene."

Polish-American Emily Reng to represent Poland at Miss Universe 2025

Polish-American Emily Reng was officially announced by the Miss Polonia organization as Miss Universe Poland 2025 on Wednesday, October 22. The 20-year-old will now prepare to represent Poland at the Miss Universe 2025 pageant in Thailand this coming November. Emily is a graduate of John Hersey High School in Arlington Heights, Illinois and is currently a student at the University of South Carolina. The new Miss Universe Poland is no stranger to pageantry. Prior to competing at Miss Polonia 2024 where she finished second runner-up, she won the title of Miss Polish America 2024 in Chicago. Miss Universe 2025 competition kicks off in Bangkok, Thailand

The 74th Miss Universe pageant has officially commenced in Bangkok, Thailand, as over 120 beauties from across the world gather to vie for the most coveted crown. Clad in their arrival ensembles, the contestants were escorted to the Chatrium Hotel & Residence Riverside Bangkok, one of the official accommodations for this year's event. Miss Lebanon 2024 first runner-up Sarah Leena Boujaoude has recently been officially appointed as Miss Universe Lebanon 2025. The 20-year-old fashion model and a finance student at the American University of Beirut will represent Lebanon at Miss Universe 2025. Miss Universe Portugal 2025 is Camila Vitorino

Former Miss Queen of Portugal Camila Vitorino was crowned Miss Universe Portugal 2025 last Saturday, June 14 in the beautiful and historic city of Elvas. The 26-year-old from São Sebastião, Setúbal made history as the first married woman and mother to become Miss Universe Portugal. Laura Malaquias, Diliana Fernandes, and Ivone Carneiro were announced as the first, second, and third runners-up, respectively. Last year's winner Andreia Correia passed on her crown to her successor at the end of the event. Lattana Munvilay was crowned Miss Universe Laos 2025 last Sunday, September 21 at the Holiday Inn & Suites in Vientiane. The 31-year-old model and actress from Salavan province succeeds last year's winner Phiranya Thipphomvong. She will represent Laos at Miss Universe 2025 in Thailand this November. Soudavone Inthavong of Luang Namtha and Lothjana Khounnavong of Houaphanh were named the first and second runners-up, respectively. No stranger to pageantry, the new Miss Universe Laos has already joined the national competition twice. She placed second runner-up in 2019 and 2022. Giulia Zanoni, representing La Unión, was crowned Miss Universe El Salvador 2025 on Friday, September 26 at Palacio Tecleño in Santa Tecla. The 20-year-old international relations student succeeds last year's winner Florence Gisselle Garcia and will represent El Salvador at Miss Universe 2025 in Thailand this November. Alva Echegoyen of La Paz finished first runner-up and was crowned Miss International El Salvador 2025. She will head to Japan, also this November, for Miss International 2025.
