71st Miss Universe: New crown unveiled in New Orleans


The 71st Miss Universe contestants had the chance to see the new crown by Mouawad for the first time in person on Thursday, January 12 at the New Orleans Morial Convention Center.

Miss Universe 2021 Harnaaz Sandhu was also present during the unveiling event along with Miss Universe Organization President Paula Shugart, CEO Amy Emmerich, new owner Anne Jakrajutatip, and businessman Fred Mouawad.

The "Force for Good" crown which is worth approximately 5.58 million US dollars was first unveiled in Bangkok, Thailand last month.

One of the 84 contestants will wear the Mouawad masterpiece for the first time at the culmination of the 71st Miss Universe pageant this Saturday.

Miss Universe Norway 2024 is Lilly Sødal from Kristiansand

Lilly Sødal was crowned Miss Norway 2024 (Miss Universe Norway 2024) during the national competition held last Saturday, August 10 at Rebel in Oslo. The 21-year-old sustainability advocate from Kristiansand received her crown from her predecessor, last year's winner Julie Tollefsen. She will now prepare to represent Norway at the Miss Universe 2024 pageant in Mexico this November. Athenna Crosby of California bested over 40 other contestants to win the Miss World America 2024 pageant on Sunday, November 17 in Seattle, Washington. The 26-year-old American-Venezuelan model and actress succeeds last year's winner Victoria DiSorbo and will now prepare to represent the United States of America at the 72nd Miss World. Kimberly Nwankolo of Oregon was named first runner-up while Anne Li of the District of Columbia, Aishwarya Kumar of Central Washington, and Heather Alexia Santos of Washington were the second, third, and fourth runners-up, respectively. Former Miss Slovensko finalist Simona Leskovská has been officially appointed as Miss Supranational Slovakia 2023. Miss Slovakia organization made the announcement on Monday, April 3 via social media. The 31-year-old beauty is a well-known influencer and sports editor from Bratislava. Aideen Howard beat over 20 other contestants to win Miss Universe Ireland 2026 on Saturday, June 20 at the Bonnington Hotel in Dublin. The 22-year-old model and student from Castletroy, Limerick, was crowned by her predecessor Aadya Srivastava from Galway.
