Luis Portelles to represent Canada at Mister Supranational 2023


Beauty pageant enthusiast and content creator Luis Portelles was officially announced on Saturday, April 16 as Mister Supranational Canada 2023.

The 28-year-old well-known YouTuber based in Montreal, Quebec hails from Holguin, Cuba, and is a graduate of the Université de Montréal with a degree in communication sciences.

"After years of being a devoted pageant fan and watching from the sidelines, I am grateful for the chance to finally take the stage and showcase my beautiful country," he wrote in a statement on social media.

"It is an incredible honor to wear the Canada sash and represent a country that has given me so much. I am excited to bring my best to the competition," he added.

Luis will now prepare to represent Canada at the Mister Supranational 2023 pageant in Małopolska, Poland this July.

Miss Universe 2025, the 74th Miss Universe competition is set to take place on Friday, November 21 at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand. Reigning Miss Universe Victoria Kjær Theilvig from Denmark will hand over her crown to her successor at the conclusion of the event. This year's much-talked-about edition marked Thailand's fourth time hosting the prestigious beauty pageant after 1992, 2005, and 2018. Polish-American Emily Reng was officially announced by the Miss Polonia organization as Miss Universe Poland 2025 on Wednesday, October 22. The 20-year-old will now prepare to represent Poland at the Miss Universe 2025 pageant in Thailand this coming November. Emily is a graduate of John Hersey High School in Arlington Heights, Illinois and is currently a student at the University of South Carolina. The new Miss Universe Poland is no stranger to pageantry. Former Miss Queen of Portugal Camila Vitorino was crowned Miss Universe Portugal 2025 last Saturday, June 14 in the beautiful and historic city of Elvas. The 26-year-old from São Sebastião, Setúbal made history as the first married woman and mother to become Miss Universe Portugal. Iceland's Helena O'Connor withdraws from Miss Universe 2025

The Miss Iceland Organization has announced today that Miss Universe Iceland 2025 Helena Hafþórsdóttir O'Connor has withdrawn from the 74th Miss Universe pageant. In an official statement released on social media, the organization said that the 21-year-old psychology student from Viðey has been ill for the past few days. The statement also stated: "She is thankfully recovering but we are devastated to announce that, due to personal reasons, she has made the difficult decision of withdrawing from the Miss Universe competition in Thailand." Helena was crowned Ungfrú Ísland 2025 (Miss Iceland 2025) in Reykjavik last April.
