Miss Universe 2023: Voice for Change video contest announced

The Miss Universe Organization introduced on Wednesday, September 13 its new initiative, the Voice for Change video contest for the upcoming Miss Universe 2023 pageant. According to the official announcement, "Each delegate will be invited to submit a video entry speaking about a cause important to them, and three winners will be selected to receive $12,000 each for a cause of their choice!" Highlighting the advocacies of the incoming contestants reinforces MUO's commitment to being a force for good and sparking change which is at the very heart of the organization. Schedule and information on how to watch and vote on the videos, powered by renowned jeweler Mouawad and CI Talks, have yet to be announced. Miss World El Salvador 2023 is Andrea Aguilar

Andrea Aguilar has been officially crowned Miss World El Salvador 2023 in a special coronation ceremony held earlier this week at Hotel Barceló in San Salvador. The 20-year-old business management student will now prepare to represent El Salvador at the 71st Miss World (Miss World 2023) to be held in Mumbai, India this December. Her predecessor for the national title Nicole Alvarez has now been designated as Miss Intercontinental El Salvador 2023 and will compete in Miss Intercontinental 2023 in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt also later this year. Daniela Guevara, who represented Usulután at the recently held Miss El Salvador 2023 (Miss Universe El Salvador 2023), was named Reina Hispanoamericana El Salvador 2023 and will now proceed to participate in Reina Hispanoamericana 2023 in Bolivia next January. Fátima Calderón was crowned Miss Grand El Salvador 2023 in a national competition held on July 29 at the FEPADE auditorium in San Salvador. The 24-year-old international relations graduate representing La Libertad bested 13 other competitors to win the national title. She succeeds Noor Mohamed and will now prepare to represent El Salvador at Miss Grand International 2023 in Vietnam this October. Alexia Pacheco of Santa Ana and Naomy Montiel of San Miguel were named the first and second runners-up, respectively. "You deserve everything great that makes you grow, God wouldn't have given you the ability to dream without also giving you the ability to turn your dreams into reality," shared Fátima following her victory. Miss Universe El Salvador 2023 is Isabella García-Manzo

Isabella García-Manzo bested 13 other beauties to be crowned Miss El Salvador 2023 (Miss Universe El Salvador 2023) on Sunday, July 30 at the Teatro Nacional de San Salvador (National Theater of San Salvador). The 20-year-old business administration student in hospitality representing the department of San Salvador succeeds Alejandra Guajardo and will now prepare to represent El Salvador at Miss Universe 2023 in the country this November. Heavy favorite Fátima Cuellar of Cuscatlán finished as first runner-up and Mariana Quintanilla of La Libertad was proclaimed the second runner-up. Valeria Maldonado of Morazán and Daniela Guevara of Usulután rounded out the Top 5 finalists. Daniela Ramos of Ahuachapán, Tiffany Catota of La Paz, Ana Moctezuma of La Unión, Elizabeth Cáder of Santa Ana, and Paola Vicuña of Sonsonate were the rest of the Top 10 semifinalists. Miss Universe 2023 will be held on November 18 in El Salvador

It's official, the Miss Universe Organization announced on Thursday, July 27 that Miss Universe 2023 will be held on November 18 in El Salvador. The 72nd Miss Universe competition was first revealed to be hosted in the Central American country during the Miss Universe 2022 final in New Orleans last January. This year's pageant will be the second edition to be hosted in El Salvador. The first time was in 1975 with Anne Marie Pohtamo of Finland emerged as the winner. Around 90 competitors are expected to take part with Pakistan's debut and several countries expected to return such as Bangladesh, Denmark, Egypt, Guyana, Hungary, Ireland, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Mongolia, New Zealand, and Zimbabwe. Reigning Miss Universe R'Bonney Gabriel of the USA will relinquish her crown at the culmination of the upcoming prestigious event. Fátima Cuéllar confirmed vying for Miss Universe El Salvador 2023

Former Miss World contestant Fátima Cuéllar aims for Miss Universe, joins Miss El Salvador 2023 Miss World El Salvador 2017 Fátima Cuéllar has been confirmed to participate in the Miss El Salvador 2023 (Miss Universe El Salvador 2023) national pageant. The 25-year-old professional model and influencer from San Salvador represented her country at Miss World 2017 in Sanya, China where out of over 100 competitors she finished in the Top 15 — a historic first placement for El Salvador. Applications for Miss El Salvador 2023 were officially opened last month but details for the final competition have yet to be announced. The winner will compete in Miss Universe 2023 to be hosted in the country later this year. Former Miss Grand El Salvador, Luciana Martínez, was officially crowned Miss Supranational El Salvador 2023 on Saturday, April 1 at Fepade Auditorium. Her coronation ceremony took place during the Miss Teen El Salvador 2023 pageant, which was won by Grace Mancia of Santa Tecla. The event was organized by Francisco Cortez (CNB El Salvador). Luciana succeeded last year's titleholder Jennifer Figueroa and will now prepare to represent El Salvador at Miss Supranational 2023 in Poland this July. No stranger to pageantry, the 23-year-old TV host (for Fanáticos 21) held the title Reina de El Salvador 2020 before getting appointed as Miss Grand El Salvador. She went on to participate in Miss Grand International 2020 in Bangkok, Thailand, and achieved a historic Top 20 placement — a first for her country. It's confirmed, the 72nd Miss Universe edition (Miss Universe 2023) will be held later this year in the Land of Volcanoes, El Salvador. The announcement was made by the country's President Nayib Bukele during the 71st Miss Universe final competition in New Orleans. "El Salvador is a country that is full of beauty. We have the best surfing beaches in the world, magnificent volcanoes, exquisite coffee and we have now become the safest country in Latin America," the President stated in a recorded video. Alejandra Guajardo was crowned Miss Universe El Salvador 2022 during the Reinado de El Salvador 2022 final competition held last August 13 in Santa Tecla. The 26-year-old, who represented the department of Cabañas, was born in the state of Quintana Roo, in the city of Cancún, Mexico to a Mexican mother and Salvadoran father. She will now prepare to represent El Salvador at Miss Universe 2022, possibly later this year. Miss Intercontinental El Salvador 2022 Andrea Aguilar and Reina Hispanoamericana El Salvador 2022 Eugenia Ávalos were also named during the event. They will go to this year's Miss Intercontinetal in Egypt and Reina Hispanoamericana in Bolivia. Alejandra Gavidia was crowned Miss Universe El Salvador 2021 during the Reinado de El Salvador 2021 competition held on Thursday, July 29 in San Salvador. The 25-year-old beauty bested six other finalists to succeed last year's titleholder, Vanessa Velásquez. She holds a bachelor’s degree in public administration and government and a master’s degree in image consulting and political consulting. Alejandra will represent her country at the 70th Miss Universe pageant to be held in Eilat, Israel later year. El Salvador has yet to win its first Miss Universe.
