Miss Maryland USA 2023 is Savena Mushinge
Miss Germantown, Savena Mushinge, was crowned Miss Maryland USA 2023 on Sunday, April 2 at the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel & Conference Center in Rockville. Rounding out the Top 5 finalists were Kennedy Taylor, Lydia Frentsos, Danielle Shook, and Taylor Wright. They were named the first, second, third, and fourth runners-up, respectively. The new Miss Maryland USA is a 26-year-old Zambian-American model and a graduate of the University of North Carolina with a degree in anthropology. She is currently working as a transaction manager at the JLL DC office in Washington, D.C. No stranger to pageantry, Savena was named last year's Miss Supranational Zambia and went on to represent Zambia at Miss Supranational 2022 pageant in Poland. She will now proceed to Miss USA 2023 in Reno, Nevada. For Miss Teen USA 2023, Maryland will be represented by newly crowned Miss Maryland Teen USA 2023 Madelyn Posey.
