Miss Maryland USA 2024 is Bailey Anne Kennedy


Asian-American Bailey Anne Kennedy was crowned Miss Maryland USA 2024 on Saturday, June 1 at Bethesda North Marriott Hotel & Conference Center.

The 31-year-old military wife, an NCAA D1 Dance Team Captain, and a former NFL Cheerleader Trainee from Montgomery County bested over 90 other contestants to win the state title.

She became the oldest and the first transgender and married woman to be crowned Miss Maryland USA since the Miss Universe Organization recently changed its rules regarding age limits and marital status.

Bailey advocates for "Beauty Without an Expiration Date" to encourage everyone to embrace opportunities regardless of age restrictions and believe in one's own self-worth despite any perceived limitations in life.

The new Miss Maryland USA succeeds Savena Mushinge, last year's winner and Miss USA 2023 Top 20 semifinalist. She will now prepare to represent her home state at Miss USA 2024 this August in California.

Lihasha Lindsay-White was proclaimed the winner of Miss Universe Sri Lanka 2025 on Saturday, July 27 at the Shangri-La hotel in Colombo. The 27-year-old was crowned by her predecessor Melloney Dassanayaka and will now prepare to represent Sri Lanka at Miss Universe 2025. The Miss Denmark Organization no longer holds the license for Miss Universe Denmark while Dubai based Filipino socialite Josh Yugen recently emerged as new national director.
