Sabrina Deraneck officially announced her resignation as Miss Grand Venezuela and will no longer be competing in Miss Grand International 2022. In an official statement on social media, she said: "Giving up a dream or a crown is not easy at all, but it's not wrong to do it when it comes to your health and all your personal well-being. Sometimes there are those very personal reasons that force you to do it and this time it was my turn." She added that it was a difficult decision to make but according to her: "God is in charge of guiding my steps and making them the right thing, at the right moment and time. Laysha Anaili Salazar Ocejo was officially announced as Miss Grand Mexico 2022 in a special ceremony held on Thursday, August 25 at the Victoria Hall of the Los Lagos Country Club in Hermosillo. The 19-year-old beauty hails from the city of Hermosillo, in the center of the northwestern Mexican state of Sonora. She is pursuing a degree in entertainment business management. Previously owned by the Miss Mexico Organization, the license for Miss Grand Mexico has now been taken over by Venezuelan businessman Flavio Falsiroli. For the fourth time in its 10-year history, the Miss Grand International Organization has introduced a new crown for its 10th anniversary edition in Bali and Jakarta, Indonesia this October. The "golden crown" was made by jewelry designer from Venezuela, George Wittels, and will be worn by 2022, 2023, and 2024 Miss Grand International winners. Miss Grand International 2022 will take place at the Sentul International Convention Center (SICC) on October 25. The grand final show will stream live on its official YouTube channel Grand TV.
