Sabrina Deraneck resigns as Miss Grand Venezuela 2022

Sabrina Deraneck officially announced her resignation as Miss Grand Venezuela and will no longer be competing in Miss Grand International 2022. In an official statement on social media, she said: "Giving up a dream or a crown is not easy at all, but it's not wrong to do it when it comes to your health and all your personal well-being. Sometimes there are those very personal reasons that force you to do it and this time it was my turn." She added that it was a difficult decision to make but according to her: "God is in charge of guiding my steps and making them the right thing, at the right moment and time. There will always be reasons to continue and I'm sure there are many ways to represent my beautiful country Venezuela later on." The 23-year-old beauty was unveiled as Miss Grand Venezuela 2022 during the national competition held in Caracas last August 13. Malaysia's representatives for Miss World 2022, Miss Supranational 2023, and Miss Grand International 2022 have been selected during the HyperLive Festival Malaysia 2022 on Saturday, August 27 at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. Meet the winners: Miss World Malaysia 2022 - Wenanita Angang, 23, from Kuala Penyu, is a conference producer living in Kuala Lumpur. She will represent Malaysia at the 71st Miss World pageant. Miss Supranational Malaysia 2023 - Deidre Walker, 28, from Sabah, is a model and psychology graduate. She will compete in Miss Supranational 2023 in Poland. Malou Peters, 20, from Næstved, bested 32 other beauties to be crowned Miss Danmark 2022 on Sunday, August 28 at the Shiny Star in Valby, Copenhagen. Maja Bach and Zaara Naaz Ahmed were the first and second runners-up, respectively, while Cecilia Matine Larsen and Victoria Arvin Lautrup completed the Top 5 finalists. Last year's titleholder, Johanne Grundt Hansen, relinquished her crown at the end of the event. The new Miss Danmark works at Hunkemöller and is also a substitute teacher in a primary school. Mannheim native Kim Kelly Braun was crowned Miss From Germany 2022 (Miss Grand Germany) on Saturday, August 27 at the Stroetmanns Fabrik in Emsdetten. The 28-year-old beauty is a model, actress, and animal lawyer and advocates for Heart Pawject, a non-profit animal sanctuary in Thailand. She will now prepare to represent Germany at Miss Grand International 2022 this October in Indonesia. Stephanie Oben Ebob and Jennifer Monreal bagged the titles Miss Planet Germany and Miss Ultranational Germany 2022, respectively, and will also compete internationally. Phoutsavanh Vongkhamxao bested 19 other contestants to be crowned Miss Grand Laos 2022 during the national competition held on Saturday, August 27 at the National Assembly Hall in Vientiane. The 25-year-old beauty is a graduate of Kent Institute Australia with a degree in accounting and business management. She is currently working as a finance officer in a bank in her country's capital. Soukanya Soulivong was named first runner-up while Jitta Thiphonephosy, Kittima Khanthaphengxay, and Jindavanh Senthavy were the second, third, and fourth runners-up, respectively. Miss Grand Mexico 2022 is Laysha Salazar

Laysha Anaili Salazar Ocejo was officially announced as Miss Grand Mexico 2022 in a special ceremony held on Thursday, August 25 at the Victoria Hall of the Los Lagos Country Club in Hermosillo. The 19-year-old beauty hails from the city of Hermosillo, in the center of the northwestern Mexican state of Sonora. She is pursuing a degree in entertainment business management. Previously owned by the Miss Mexico Organization, the license for Miss Grand Mexico has now been taken over by Venezuelan businessman Flavio Falsiroli. The newly appointed Miss Grand Mexico is no stranger to pageantry. In 2021, she was named Miss Teen Universe Mexico and went on to compete in the Miss Teen Universe pageant in Nicaragua where she placed in the Top 10. Laysha will now prepare to represent her country at Miss Grand International 2022 in Indonesia this October. Miss Grand International 2022: New crown, schedule of events

For the fourth time in its 10-year history, the Miss Grand International Organization has introduced a new crown for its 10th anniversary edition in Bali and Jakarta, Indonesia this October. The "golden crown" was made by jewelry designer from Venezuela, George Wittels, and will be worn by 2022, 2023, and 2024 Miss Grand International winners. Miss Grand International 2022 will take place at the Sentul International Convention Center (SICC) on October 25. The grand final show will stream live on its official YouTube channel Grand TV. Over 40 contestants have already been confirmed so far to participate in the upcoming international event where the reigning queen Nguyen Thuy Thuc Tien of Vietnam will crown her successor. Miss Grand International 2021 Nguyen Thuy Thuc Tien and Miss World 2021 Karolina Bielawska arrived on Thursday, August 25 at Kota Kinabalu International Airport, in Sabah, Malaysia. Joined by Miss Grand International Organization's Nawat Itsaragrisil and Teresa Chaivisut, the queens were warmly welcomed by the fans and national pageant organizers during their arrival in the country. This is the second time for the reigning Miss Grand International and Miss World to be together since their first meeting in Vietnam during the Miss World Vietnam 2022 competition two weeks ago.
