Catalina Quintero, representing Amazonas, was crowned Miss Mundo Colombia 2023 (Miss World Colombia 2023) in a national competition held on Saturday, August 12 at Club Militar de Oficiales in Bogotá. The 23-year-old graduate of international business administration with a minor in sustainability from the Universidad de La Sabana will now represent Colombia at the 72nd Miss World (Miss World 2024). Salomé Cuartas of Medellín was named Virreina Miss Mundo Colombia while Luisa Lizcano of Norte de Santander and Jenifer Pulgarín of Meta were the first and second runners-up, respectively. Rounding out the Top 8 were María Antonia Ruiz of Antioquia, Adriana Zayira Castro of Boyacá, Hilsse Barrios of Casanare, and Luisana Muñoz of Magdalena. Camila Andrea Pinzon, representing Boyaca, was crowned Miss Mundo Colombia 2022 (Miss World Colombia) on Saturday, August 20 in Bogota. The 26-year-old beauty who holds two master's degrees in marketing and business from the Sorbonne University in Paris will represent Colombia at the 71st Miss World pageant. She speaks several languages including French, English, Italian, German, and her native Spanish. Sofia Donado of Magdalena was named Virreina while Eleonora Penagos of Bogota and Miranda Rodríguez of Guaviare were the first and second runners-up, respectively. Last year's titleholder, Andrea Aguilera, who placed in the Top 13 at 70th Miss World, relinquished her crown at the end of the event. Miss Antioquia, Andrea Aguilera, was crowned Miss Mundo Colombia 2021 in a national competition held at Hall 74 on Saturday, August 14 in Bogota. The 23-year-old social communicator and early childhood care technician holds a diploma in neuro-linguistic programming. Her Beauty with a Purpose project “Nutrir Neuronas” tackles child malnutrition and she works with “Othello Nutrition” to give specialized nutritional food to hundreds of children with chronic malnutrition. Andrea succeeds Miss Mundo Colombia 2019, Sara Arteaga, and she will now prepare to represent Colombia at the 70th Miss World (Miss World 2021) pageant later this year in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
