Anastasia Venza was crowned Miss Russia 2025 (Miss Universe Russia) on Saturday, October 4 at the Barvikha Luxury Village Concert Hall. The 22-year-old model and medical student from Moscow edged out 49 other contestants to win the national competition. Alena Lesnyak from Kerch and Victoria Makarova from Sestroretsk were named the first and second runners-up, respectively. The new Miss Russia will represent her country at the Miss Universe 2025 pageant in Thailand this coming November. Russian model, television host, and psychologist Kseniya Alexandrova has died following a horrible car accident last month in Tver Oblast. According to multiple sources, the 30-year-old was in the passenger when an elk ran onto the road and crashed through the car windshield. Her husband luckily survived. She suffered a head injury and was hospitalized in the intensive care unit of Sklifosovsky Institute for Emergency Medicine but died on August 12. Her tragic and untimely death came only four months after she got married. Kseniya was named first runner-up at Miss Russia 2017 and represented her country at the 66th Miss Universe pageant in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. Miss Universe Russia 2023 Margarita Golubeva officially unveiled her national costume for Miss Universe 2023 in a press conference held on Tuesday, October 21 at Tass News Agency in Moscow. Her national costume was inspired by the Tsarevna Swan (The Swan Princess), a 1900 oil painting by the Russian artist Mikhail Vrubel based on the opera The Tale of Tsar Sultan by Rimsky-Korsakov. Anna Linnikova bested 24 other finalists to be crowned Miss Russia 2022 in a virtual ceremony held on Monday, July 25 in Moscow. The 22-year-old public relations student and professional model hails from the southwestern Russian city of Orenburg. She succeeds Alina Sanko and is expected to represent her country at the 71st Miss Universe (Miss Universe 2022) pageant, possibly later this year.
