From the Top 20 semifinalists, only 10 beauties have been announced to continue to the final of Miss Suomi 2023 (Miss Universe Finland 2023) next month. The announcement led by Miss Suomi national director Sunneva Sjögren was held on Tuesday, August 15 at Valo Hotel in Helsinki. This year's 90-minute final competition, to be hosted by Constantinos "Gogi" Mavromichalis and Heidi Willman, will take place on September 9 at Aino Areena in Järvenpää. The 26-year-old model from Savonlinna is a student at the University of Eastern Finland pursuing a degree in education. She succeeds last year's winner Essi Unkuri and is expected to represent Finland at the 71st Miss Universe pageant in January. Crowd favorite Nana Partanen, 23, from Helsinki, and Adelaide Botty van den Bruele, 26, from Sonkajärvi were the first and second runners-up, respectively. Miss Suomi 2020 Viivi Altonen has revealed her northern lights-inspired national costume for the 69th Miss Universe pageant. The innovative costume designed by her stepfather used the LED lighting technology and its preparations took almost eight months for her team to complete. Viivi shared it represents "the phenomenal development that Finland has gone through within the last century. From a rural society to a global leader in many fields."
