Miss Universe Organization declaims crypto launch, plans legal action

The Miss Universe Organization (MUO) has just released an official statement regarding the "Miss Universe Coin" which was introduced at Philippine Blockchain Week. According to MUO and its owner JKN Global Group, they are not associated or involved in any way and will be pursuing all legal options with regards to this infringement. The statement reads, "There is currently no Miss Universe cryptocurrency or blockchain offering, and these products are in no way involved with the voting or selection process for MISS UNIVERSE or the Miss Universe Philippines pageants." "To our fans — please use caution and do not join in this falsely-named coin scam. We are doing everything we can to shut this down publicly so that our community is not victims of this fraud."

Miss Universe 2023: Voice for Change video contest announced

The Miss Universe Organization introduced on Wednesday, September 13 its new initiative, the Voice for Change video contest for the upcoming Miss Universe 2023 pageant. According to the official announcement, "Each delegate will be invited to submit a video entry speaking about a cause important to them, and three winners will be selected to receive $12,000 each for a cause of their choice!" Highlighting the advocacies of the incoming contestants reinforces MUO's commitment to being a force for good and sparking change which is at the very heart of the organization. The Miss Universe Organization (MUO) has officially announced its decision to eliminate all age limits across its competition. In an Instagram story, MUO posted on Tuesday, "This change will apply for all 2024 pageants globally." Every adult woman in the world will now have the opportunity to become the next Miss Universe. This significant move towards a more inclusive pageant system came after allowing transgenders, mothers, and married women to compete. The reigning Miss Universe, R'Bonney Gabriel of the USA, became the oldest winner to date when she was crowned at age 28 in New Orleans last January. The Miss Universe Organization released an official statement today regarding its decision to part ways with PT Capella Swastika Karya and Indonesian national director Poppy Capella. This is amid allegations of sexual harassment from several contestants of the recently concluded Miss Universe Indonesia 2023 competition. Unfortunately, this also resulted in the cancellation of this year's Miss Universe Malaysia pageant whose license was granted to the same company. Miss Universe Indonesia responds to sexual harassment allegations

The Miss Universe Indonesia Organization has issued a statement in response to allegations of sexual harassment following the recently held Miss Universe Indonesia 2023 competition. "In response to media coverage about the incidents at the Miss Universe Indonesia pageant, we at Miss Universe Indonesia are closely monitoring the situation," said the national director and owner Poppy Capella. "We are actively investigating the allegations that have been reported in the mass media. We will conduct a [thorough] investigation and review the allegations made against us." According to Reuters , several contestants have filed a police report against the organizers after they allegedly underwent a physical examination in their underwear and were photographed "topless" in a room with more than 20 people. The Miss Universe Organization (MUO) announced on Monday, August 7 that they are open to applications from potential national directors who would like their country-level pageant to be a part of the 2024 MUO system. This is the first time in the pageant's 72-year history that MUO is taking formal applications from the public, and this open process reflects the organization's commitment to being as inclusive and representative as possible. "We often hear that pageant professionals and fans would love to be a part of the international system but have no idea how to get involved. Hosted at the True Icon Hall, Iconsiam in Bangkok, Thailand on Monday (July 17), the star-studded event was attended by reigning Miss Universe R'Bonney Gabriel and her fellow competitors during the 71st Miss Universe pageant.
